Dear Methacton Families,
All Methacton Schools will dismiss early on November 19, 2021.
See schedule below:
- Grades 9-12 will be dismissed at 11:00AM
- Full-time NMTCC students will attend a regular NMTCC schedule that day.
- Grades 5-8 will be dismissed at 12:00PM
- Grades 1-4 will be dismissed at 1:00PM

In partnership with the Skippack Pharmacy, the district has organized a staff vaccine booster clinic in the afternoon on Friday, November 19, 2021. This clinic will allow for a coordinated opportunity to provide access for all our staff – to help protect them and protect your children. As such, principals and teachers will be in contact with families regarding the asynchronous work being issued for that afternoon (and for AM Kindergarten). Assignments will be provided in paper form or via Google Classroom. Specific information on these assignments will be provided well in advance of November 19, 2021.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter and thank you for being a Methacton School District partner.
Sincerely,
Dr. David Zerbe
Superintendent of Schools

Ticket prices are $5 students/seniors & $15 for adults.

The Dining Room, by A.R. Gurney is a play set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes—some funny, some touching, some rueful. The actors change roles, personalities and ages with virtuoso skill as they portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to older housemaids. Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events; a father lectures his son on grammar and politics; a child returns from boarding school to discover his mother’s infidelity; a senile grandmother doesn’t recognize her own sons at Thanksgiving dinner; a daughter, her marriage a shambles, pleads futilely to return home, etc. Dovetailing swiftly and smoothly, the varied scenes coalesce, ultimately, into a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor and abundant humanity.

MSD Backpack Program
The Methacton Backpack program is up and running in each of our buildings and serves district families in need with supplemental food and non-food items. This program helps create food stability for breakfast and lunch when our students are not in school. Weekly, the program sends home a bag of breakfast, lunch, and snack items for the weekend and holiday breaks for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Families who qualify for free/reduced meals are eligible to participate in the Backpack Program. Please contact the school counselor if you would like to register your child for the Backpack program.
In order to continue to sustain the program please consider contributing and donating items to the program. Items can be donated directly to the school or you can place an order through Amazon and ship it directly to our school from the Amazon page.

For safety reasons, we are not permitting edible birthday treats to be brought into school. We realize that birthdays are special to our students and families. We appreciate your support.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND FAMILIES: Standards Based Report Card
The Methacton School District uses a standards-based grading system for students in grades K-4. This system helps us more accurately measure students’ mastery of PA Core Academic Standards in all subjects. The elementary report cards have been revised to reflect the changes to the state standards and Methacton’s curricula. The goal of this approach to reporting is to provide parents, students, and teachers with a detailed picture of what students know and are able to demonstrate. The information provided on the report card encourages dialogue about areas of strength and need, and how our students can continue to grow academically.
This article, Seven Reasons for Standards-Based Grading, explains more about standards-based grading.
As your child’s teacher explained during our Back-to-School night, I CAN statements have been developed to share with you what skills your child is being assessed on and the expectation of mastery for each trimester. The I CAN statements are listed on our MSD Family Center.
Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.
