Welcome to a new school year, Wildcat Families!

We are incredibly excited and proud of the work our teachers have done to prepare for an engaging remote learning experience. Please keep in mind that even the best-laid plans can result in a few hiccups. Most likely, some of you will experience issues with login or accessing a site. Together, we will work through the issues and get better with each challenge. For this first week of school, we want to focus on ensuring our students have access to Classlink and Microsoft TEAMS.

To help you and our Wildcats have a successful remote learning experience, the administrative team will be available for assistance throughout the day to support you and your scholar with any challenges. The TEAMS Help Sessions will be available from 8:30 am - 9:30 and 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Choose your grade level and click on the link below to enter the session and get one one one assistance from your grade-level administrator.

Prior to starting the day tomorrow, please be sure that you have done the following:

• Checked your email for the Wildcat Weekly Newsletter (review the school schedule and a video with directions to access scholar's classes via Microsoft Teams).
• Review your child's schedule available in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
• Charge your device by plugging it in tonight. Also, shut it down completely and restart to allow any updates to run.
• Ensure that your child has a quiet, clutter-free, place to learn each day.
• Designate a place for your child to charge his or her device each night and make that part of the bedtime routine.

Together, we've got this, families! We are going to use this first week to adjust to new routines and ease our students into remote learning. Our attitudes will mean the difference between a successful or unsuccessful start, so let's do our best to remain calm when issues arise and show our children how resilient we are when faced with challenges.

Let's show the rest of Fulton County that nothing, not even a pandemic, can stop our students from learning and Renaissance Middle from being a top-performing school, Wildcat Nation!

Greetings Wildcat Parents!

As we begin the 2020-2021 school year, we want to continue to ensure that all of our scholars have access to a school-issued device. If you scheduled an appointment for pick up and were unable to make it, or if your scholar does not have a school-issued device, please send an email to our Device Coordinator, Mrs. Miller-Axam at millerj12@fultonschools.org. Please provide your scholar’s name, name of the parent or guardian, and a telephone number and Mrs. Miller-Axam will schedule an individual date and time for pick-up of the device.

Additionally, if you are experiencing technical issues with the device (login issues/password resets) or hardware issues (device locked, stop working, cracked screen, keyboard not working, etc.), please contact the FCS Hotline at 470-254-2300. Thank you and have a wonderful week of instruction.

6th Grade Parents,

As we continue to prepare for our first day of 6th grade, I know that many of you were unable to attend the Virtual Wildcat Training Camp on August 5th. We have worked to compile the information into a short video for you and your scholar to watch so that you can see and meet some of your teachers, learn about navigating Microsoft TEAMS and see what our building looks like. Although we will not meet face-to-face, please take some time to review the video and learn about all the exciting things that we have for you as a new RMS Wildcat!

Did you know free & reduced-price meal applications benefit your family and your school?! Families may qualify for free or reduced-price school breakfast & lunch. If you have not already completed a Free and Reduced application, or if your income has decreased for any reason since you last applied or if your household size has increased, please take this opportunity to complete the attached application. A new application must be filled out every year. Only one application is needed per household.

It’s easy & takes only minutes to complete!

FCS has received information regarding The Families First Coronavirus Response Act to support families who may need additional assistance. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act includes a benefit called Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) for children who received free or reduced-price school meals in the 2019-2020 school year, but their school is/was closed. To submit an application, parents will need their student’s Georgia Testing ID (GTID) number. Parents may access their scholar’s GTID, listed as “State ID:”, through the Campus Parent Portal. If you do not have Campus Parent access, please contact the school to request access and obtain your scholar’s GTID. Attached is a document and link to the state website for applying for P-EBT.
