School Hours
It's hard to believe we're starting the 7th week of school! Hopefully, everyone has found their best routes for the commute to and from TeSA. We completely understand that sometimes there will be unexpected accidents or road closures, so we respectfully ask for all families to plan a few extra minutes to safely arrive. We've noticed an increase of both late arrivals and late pick-ups, so please keep the following timeframes in mind:
7:30 = South doors open, breakfast begins
7:45 = Main doors open, students may go to their classrooms
7:55 = Breakfast concludes
8:00 = School officially begins
8:05 = Students are tardy and must be signed in through the front office
3:30 = K-1st students dismiss
3:45 = 2nd-5th students dismiss
4:00 = Teachers dismiss, students not picked up are taken to the front office
If you're struggling with the arrival/dismissal times and need to sign up your child for Clayton Before/Afterschool care or TCA+A Afterschool Conservatory Classes, please visit our website for more information.
Thank you for your help keeping us on schedule!
Artistically & Academically Yours,
Betsy Compton, M.A., M.A.T., M.Ed.
Principal
Oct. 6th = 1/2 Day & Student-Led Conferences
K-1st Dismissal = 11:45
2nd-5th Dismissal = 12:00
Come & Go Student-Led Conferences = 2:00-5:00
Student-led conferences provide an opportunity for students to engage in self-reflection, create personal academic goals, and practice their presentation skills. From 2:00-5:00, all classrooms will be open for students to present for about 10-20 minutes to their families. Although teachers will be available for quick questions, this will not be a time for extended conversations. If you have academic concerns, please email your child(s) teachers to schedule a separate time for a parent/teacher conference.
Oct. 7th & 10th = No School
UPDATE: Online Tutoring Sign-Up Changes
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to let us know about the HeyTutor sign-up difficulties. These emails helped us discover that HeyTutor changed their platform and sign-up abilities this school year. Since their new platform does not allow for advanced scheduling, we've created a Sign-Up Genius for our TeSA families to book their weekly sessions. To participate in online tutoring, please take the following steps:
1. Use the TeSA Sign-Up Genius to select your child's weekly Math and/or Reading sessions. Each child is limited to two 30-minute sessions per week.
2. Wait to log on to the HeyTutor website until the time your child's session begins.
3. Log on with your child's school email (firstname.lastname@mytcaa.org) and password.
*Reference the DIRECTIONS with screenshots supplied by HeyTutor if you have difficulties.
*Email betsy.compton@mytesa.org if your child does not know his/her password and needs it reset.

TeSA Calendars
The academic calendar shows the beginning and ending of each grading cycle in blue. You can expect to see Progress Reports in the 3rd week of the cycle and Report Cards the week after the cycle ends. Be sure to also note school holidays in yellow and staff development days in grey. The academic calendar is approved by the Board and will not change unless there is extreme weather or state-mandated closures.
The TeSA Activity Calendar is a fluid document and may change throughout the year. It contains state-mandated days, such as STAAR testing, and also locally-developed days like Howdy Week. Please reference the TeSA Activity Calendar to save the dates for all of our performances and major events.
