MES Reading and Math Achievement

Our Husky Pups regularly take the STAR Early Literacy, Reading and/or Math assessments in class. This helps inform teachers of student progress and areas of improvement. Our benchmark window opens today for students to take these assessments. Once all students have taken these assessments, teachers and staff will spend time analyzing the data. This is an important step in meeting the academic needs of our students. We look forward to sharing this data with our school community in the following weeks.

At MES, we incorporate number sense routines and Daily 5 & CAFE into our daily instruction.

We have a few children who have been late to school repeatedly. Please remember that the State of California requires that children receive a number of predetermined minutes of instruction. Tardiness can create a problem for the student and disrupts the classroom instruction. Let's see if we can get all students to school on time this week!

Please call our attendance hotline to report your child’s absence @ 760-934-7162. If your child’s absence is not reported, it is considered unexcused.

Mono County Office of Education is offering 4 free adult education courses currently on Zoom. They also have Chromebooks they can loan out for free.

MonoESL - Beginners, T/Th, 5:30-7; Intermediate, M/W, 5:30-7

Spanish Language - Thursday, 5:30-7pm

Spanish Lunchtime Book Club, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 12-1

HS Diploma or GED Preparation

Please don't forget to send your student with the following Wednesday or Thursday:

• skis/poles or snowboard (labeled and placed in locker before 6pm tonight or tomorrow morning)
• boots
• helmet
• goggles
• gloves
• bib (if they have one; we are a handful short)
• small snack in the pocket of their jacket

If you choose to pick up your skier/rider from the mountain, please check out with a teacher. They are on the snow with clipboards. This is very important. The buses will not leave until ALL children are accounted for.

When dropping off equipment in the morning, please DO NOT exit your vehicle in the drop off circle. If you need to drop off equipment, park in the visitor's parking lot.
