Hello, MCS Families!
Please look over the following reminders and updates!
Calendar reminders:
March 21-25 | Spring Break - No School
March 28 | Professional Development Day - No School
Mask Update: Masks Optional starts TODAY!
Friends and Families: It is lovely to see the students' beautiful, happy faces! It has been nearly two years since the pandemic began and caused many changes at MCS. It has been a long, arduous journey that still involves uncertainties. We are endlessly thankful for our families and volunteers’ support and the grit and perseverance of the MCS students. If your child/ren still feels more comfortable wearing a mask to school, we welcome it. Please consider the necessary information compiled with the help of the Covid Task Force, and sent by Gina this week.
Important Reminders
Masks are not going away completely. We will have to wear masks if/when risk is higher in the community including if there is a “cluster” or “outbreak”. This means there are two or more families that are COVID positive. The quarantine time has been shortened from 14 days to 10 days.
Layered Approach to Include:
· Vaccinations is a strong layer of protection for individuals and the community. Link about vaccination:
· Isolating individuals who are sick.
· Testing and masking following illness and in limited circumstances, such as outbreaks.
· Supporting the use of masks by individuals who wish to use them, even when not required.
· A shift from contact tracing of individual cases to monitoring for case clusters that might need to be investigated and responded to as outbreaks.
· We will also continue to ventilate, use outdoor space, practice frequent hand-washing, sanitation and disinfection, and proper respiratory etiquette; keeping a distance, coughing or sneezing in our elbows.
In an effort to reduce the spread at school, the best practice is to assume that someone may have Covid if they have 3 or more symptoms that have not improved in 48 hours.
2022-23 MCS Calendar
Next year's calendar is currently being reviewed by staff and Board members. We will share when it is approved!

Magic Mountain Play
Dear parents,
As you have hopefully heard from your children, we are having a play in March. Please save the date March 17th. We will have a matinee show at 1:00 and a 5:00 show. Please let us know ASAP if your child is unable to attend.
The show will be approximately an hour long and we will keep the students after the 1:00 show, feed them and get them ready for the 5:00 show.
The show will be here before we know it but there are some volunteer opportunities for those of you available to help and are feeling creative.
Volunteer Opportunities
Costumes: We need people to sew felt masks of woodland animals. There are patterns and felt available but if you want to be creative that is great too. We are looking to create a woodland scene
Fake campfire: We would love to have a fake fire on the set. Any ideas? We were hoping it would glow with a light inside.
Fake trees: Does anyone have a fake Christmas tree we can borrow? Would you like to make some trees for our set that are stable? Logs and stumps (fake or real) to have on stage.
Grass and Flowers: Any ideas on how we can have some grass and flowers on our set paper, cardboard, tissue paper, etc.
Tee-Pee: for the set
Easy to set up tent: for the set
Food: Can you help with dinner on the 17th?
Video: Do you have a way to video the show and have it available to the students?
P.A. system: We need a simple microphone or two and an amp.
If there is anything else, you feel you can assist with please reach out and let us know. We greatly appreciate any help. Thank you!

Sunlight Ski Day!
We all enjoyed fresh snow and sunshine during the trip to Sunlight last week. Thank you to ALL the chaperones and staff who helped out on the snow, and thank you especially Melinda Tilley, for helping with all the logistics in and around the lodge! We love spending time with our MCS families and are grateful for the support!
We all wish we had gotten more photos but, it appears we were all too busy having fun! If you snapped any special photos, please send them in!
Snow! Snow! Snow!
Breakfast Made With LOVE
Parents and friends of MCS, Chrissy Siemon, Kelly Wilson, Katie Manz, and Carey Levin, prepared an amazing breakfast for the MCS students and staff this morning. Our hearts, and bellies, are full!
Thank you!

Local Summer Camp offered by one of our school parents, Dina Bowers!

That's all for now!
