Hawk Happenings
Special Edition
Happy Wednesday, HRBA Families!
I hope that you all had a restful Christmas break and are having a great start to 2020. This weather has been crazy...wind, rain, and now possibly snow?? They are forecasting snow a few days next week, not to mention this weekend. Don't forget that we will be making our own call on whether to have a late start or no school due to ice/snow conditions this year and will not be following Tacoma Public Schools. This was overwhelmingly voted for by parents earlier this year. You will find out about a change to the school schedule through the following means:
- You will get a text alert through "Parent Alert" on RenWeb
- Watch for the scrolling list of school delays and closures on King 5 and Kiro 7
- Check our Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HolyRosaryTacoma
We will do our best to make the call as soon as possible. Please know that we make the best decision based on our awareness of the current road conditions, current and future weather models, and the safety of our staff, students, and families. Our students come from 42 different zip codes, so the conditions may be very different in your area. If the school is open or on a late start, it is always your choice as to whether to brave the roads. The most important thing is your safety. We'll see how things go next week!
For this week, don't forget to join our amazing actors for Robinson Crusoe on Friday night at 6:30 pm and/or Saturday at 3 pm. Tickets are $10 each with children 4 and under for free. If your child is in the play, you will receive 2 free tickets for each play, if you attend (these are non-transferable). The kids are working hard and I know it will be another fantastic production with Missoula Children's Theater. A big thank you to Melissa Curtis, Amanda Schweickert and all the parents who are helping put this on.
Blessings,
Katie Dempsey

Auction Procurement Outing!
Reminder: $100 Auction Family Commitments are due February 7, 2020!
On Monday, January 20, 2020 families will be heading out to procure auction donations from local businesses. We will not have school on the 20th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. This is a great way to fulfill your $100 auction commitment. The value of the donations received will go towards this total. You will also receive volunteer hours for your assistance. Please see the sign-up link here to participate:

Thank you to Ms. Valerie for putting this together!
As noted on the Financial Agreement, each Holy Rosary family is required to contribute to the annual Auction (formerly Crab Feed). We will accept donations equal to or greater than $100 in value in the form of cash or check, gift cards to local restaurants, businesses, sporting events, or places of interest. Families may also provide vouchers for goods and services such as catering, lawn maintenance, baked goods, etc. At the auction, there will be a wine toss game. If you would like, you can donate wine towards your $100 commitment. We can provide donation forms, if you prefer to solicit your items from a local business, stop by the office to grab a form.
When turning in your auction items to the office, we will ask you to submit a form with an item description and value. This allows us to track these as in kind donations.
If the item or payment is not received by February 7, families will be invoiced $150.
***Items are subject to procurement committee approval.***
