Habit 1: Be Proactive "I'm In Charge of Me!"

This month, our Middle Schoolers focused on Habit 1- Be Proactive. Being proactive means taking responsibility for your choices and behaviors. Habit 1 is key to all of the 7 Habits- that is why it comes first!

A proactive person uses Proactive Language instead of Reactive Language. A proactive person says "I am in charge of my own life. I am responsible for only me. I can choose how I react to other people. I am in charge."

Our Middle School students have learned that different choices yield different results. The goal was to teach them to think about those results before they decide what to do.

Below are October's Table Topics! These can be used to encourage Leader in Me discussions at home. This could be during dinner, in the car, or anytime you find is a good time to connect with your student!
