Uniform Work Day
We need your help to be ready for PICTURE DAY! Volunteers are needed to pull jackets, bibbers, etc. based on previous measurements collected during recent measuring events. This preparation will help us all have a smooth picture day and uniform assignment on 7/29! We have about 140 uniforms remaining to pull during this work day.

Summer Band Volunteer Sign Up - Meal Plan /Band Aid
“Who’s ready for Summer Band?! Check your calendars, if you have a couple of hours, we could use your help!
Volunteer as a Band-Aid: sit for a shift under our band-aid tent to provide ice packs, water, and/or minor first aid.
Volunteer for Meal Plans: help feed our students by picking up meals, serving meals, or checking students in.

Remember that you will receive a Charms email on the first day of your sign-up time frame based on your class. Next up? Freshman 7/17 - 7/21
We Highly Suggest that you sign up for the earliest time slot possible so that each band/guard student has access to the largest selection of uniform sizes. As the day goes on the size selection tends to decrease.

Jag Jog is September 16th!
Jag Jog:
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Each year, the Jaguar Band Boosters host the Jaguar Jog. It is an important fundraiser for our program! This is a 5k/ 10k run/walk that supports our band and guard programs!
We are working on setting up this year’s committee to kick things off and we need your help to make this event a success!! If you would like to help with the Jag Jog please reach out to Joan Forsythe (jaguarjog@johnsonbands.com). We are happy to work with you to fit your availability, ANY help is welcome!

Breakdown Camp July 24th and 25th: SLT in morning; full band & guard, 5-8pm - Per Mr. Lucita, Attendance is MANDATORY!
TBA Convention Participants: For those of you who were invited and have attended at least one practice, Mr. J sent an email EARLIER TODAY with information regarding the last practice (Tuesday, 7/18) before the Texas Bandmasters Association clinic on Saturday, July 22nd at 9:30am. Please check your email!
Things to Know
FOOTBALL GAMES
Students are not allowed to eat in uniform - don't let them tell you otherwise! They will be allowed to go to the restroom in pairs or groups and are accompanied by a parent volunteer chaperone. We ask that you please do not put those volunteers in an awkward situation by bringing your student food or drinks!
Only Directors, Band Photographers, and Board Members are allowed in the Band & Guard section. Families can, however, get great pictures by sitting in the section next to the band and guard!
During the 3rd quarter, the band and guard join the cheerleaders and Rosettes in front of the student section for some school spirit fun!

Subscribe to Fly a Flag!
Support the Johnson Band and Guard by signing up TODAY for the Fly A Flag Program! For $52 per year, we will place a 3' x 5' flag in your yard 5 times a year for patriotic holidays. Blocks with multiple flags look fantastic so share with your neighbors!

Interested in helping to install and remove flags 5 times a year? This volunteer opportunity is perfect for someone who needs flexibility. Our goal is to provide volunteers with a route that will take around an hour (10-15 flags), and once you are familiar with your route, it will be faster. All volunteers MUST be registered with the HAYSCISD VIP system. Once approved, below are guidelines for the volunteer check-in process during the year.
Check-in at the Front Office: Anytime you volunteer on campus during the school day.
Check-in at the Band Hall (Mrs. Mendez office): Anytime you volunteer on campus during after-school hours and during summer band hours.
