Hello YCIS Families--
Bingo!
This community wide event is happening tonight. A special thank you goes out to the YCIS PTO for organizing this event and providing all food, drink and prizes. Remember this is a free event open to all. See you in the cafeteria tonight at 6:00
I would like to share with you some construction updates as it relates to improving our security around the YCIS campus. A fence has been erected to secure the backside of our building and our playground. Ultimately, the foot traffic between our building and the domes and cafeteria will be funneled through common entry/exit points that will be accessed by a fob and secured throughout the day. We are also installing more cameras and repositioning existing cameras to capture better angles and wider views on our campus. Our intercom system has been rewired to allow for better clarity and volume should we need to make an all call emergency announcement. Also, while this has been an existing practice, we would like all visitors and guests to check in the main office and get a visitor's pass before moving throughout the building. These projects are happening and will continue to happen as we strive to ensure student safety.
We had a great turn out for our Science Fair a couple weeks ago. Thank you to Liz Dillow for organizing and leading this event. There were some thought provoking and fascinating experiments. Kudos to all of our young scientist and congratulations to Bradley T., Kamden R. and Brayden K. for placing #1, #2, and #3 respectively. On to regionals!
Attention 6th Grade Parents! There will be an outdoor school meeting this Thursday 2/29 at 6:00 in the YCIS gym. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions and go over the logistics of the plan for outdoor school this spring.
Check out the flier below for an opportunity to play with the Yamhill Youth Honors Orchestra.
The second semester is underway and the month of March will be here next week. Way to go Tigers! "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars"-- Kasey Kasem.
