Message from Dr. K
2020 was a hard year; 2021 is not giving us much of a break yet. I send my warm regards to all and a reminder to take care of ourselves, check in with colleagues, and remember that our kids are trying to process all of this difficult stuff too. Here's a resource that can help you navigate these tough conversations with children and teens.

Although this program is voluntary, it is important to have as much participation in the saliva screening program as possible. The district’s goal is 90% participation to make the best evidence-based decisions. If you already consented and acknowledged the waiver for each of your children in Skyward, you will continue to be provided with test kits. Once you sign up you will be in the system and do not need to sign the waiver again.

District 41 Band Program Happenings
The District 41 Band Program is alive and well amid remote learning! Here are just some of the band program happenings in District 41:
The 5th Grade Beginning Band Program premiered a series of four band concerts featuring student solos and group performances.
The Hadley Band program showcased a virtual winter concert of holiday music from all six concert bands in grades six through eight.
Mrs. Pressly’s beginning band students also had the opportunity to have a virtual meet and greet with Mrs. Tribley and Mr. Cooper from the Hadley Band Program during student independent resource time. These students also had the opportunity to attend a virtual holiday party where they learned numerous holiday songs on their instruments.
Hadley Band students virtually connected with beginning band students through the Band Buddy program, sending letters and notes of encouragement to their 5th grade band friends.
Mrs. Pressly, Mr. Cooper, and Mrs. Tribley continue to be so proud of their students’ commitment and work ethic during this unique time. Everyone is doing a wonderful job keeping the music alive!
Be on the lookout for information about registering for Hadley Band for the 2021/2022 school year. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the district band directors with questions.
