Parent FYIs
Don't have access to the PowerSchool or Canvas Parent Portals?
PowerSchool Parent Access
PowerSchool Gradebook Portal provides real-time access for parents to view student’s final grades, attendance, assignments and more. Having a parent PowerSchool Gradebook portal account is an important way to know your child’s final grades and where those grades are stored for transcripts as Science Hill High School does NOT issue paper Report Cards.
If you do not have access to the parent portal, you can find the request form on the Science Hill Website under the About tab (Select Parent Gradebook Request) or follow this link that will directly take you to the form: PowerSchool Gradebook Portal Request Form
Canvas Parent Observer Access
Canvas Parent Observer allows for parents to view full course content, including calendars, documents, and quizzes, without taking part in the course. Grades from Canvas are synched to PowerSchool, which is where all final grades are reported and stored for transcripts.

Resource of the Month
The Source
It is also home of the Prom Closet where students can find formal attire to wear for school dances so be on the lookout for when that becomes available and open in the spring!
The Source is run by Jennifer Delahoussaye, our school social worker, who can be found in The Locker, which is a group of offices in the cafeteria. This location is easily accessible to students if they need to find her.
Ms. Delahoussaye is always accepting donations of food and snacks, along with personal hygiene products. For clothing donations, clothes need to be new or gently used* and be for high school age students.
If you or your student has any questions, please contact Jennifer Delahoussaye at delahoussayej@jcschools.org.
*"Gently Used" means worn once or twice AND washed prior to donating to the school. Thank you!

The Academic Common Market
The Academic Common Market (ACM) is a tuition-savings program for college students who live in the 16 states that are member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), a nonprofit education organization. The ACM allows students to pay in-state tuition to study in a program not offered in their home state, provided they have been accepted into an approved degree program at a participating ACM institution and are certified as residents of a participating state. Eligible universities are four-year public institutions located in one of the 16 SREB states.
More information about this program can be found at https://www.tn.gov/thec/acm/acm.html
