In compliance with the Open Meetings Law*, the Board of Education of the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, has announced a gathering at DoubleTree Inn, Jefferson Road, Henrietta NY, in connection with MCSBA Legislative Breakfast on Saturday, February 5, 2022. There is no agenda, and no board business will be discussed**.

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Alumni Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Class. The Hall of Fame was established in 1995 to recognize distinguished graduates of Honeoye Falls, Lima, and Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School Districts who have distinguished themselves with exceptional achievements and contributions to their school, community, and country. By recognizing these exceptional graduates, we can provide positive role models for the present-day students in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District. Nominees, living or deceased, must be a graduate of Honeoye Falls, Lima, or Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School Districts and have graduated at least ten years prior to nomination. The nominee must have demonstrated significant contributions to their community and/or country, with emphasis on post-secondary achievements. The selection committee will follow an open nomination procedure with anyone eligible to nominate a qualified graduate. Please note that completed nomination packets are due May 1st. Nomination packets may be downloaded from the HF-L Website (www.hflcsd.org/page/hall-of-fame) or obtained in the District Office, 20 Church Street, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. HF-L Lacrosse Winter Training is now HALF OFF for the remainder of the session. Training is for boys and girls in grades K through 12 on Thursday nights. Please see our flyer and our website, www.hfllax.org for more details!

The District created a video entitled Every Student, Every Day, that highlights district-wide research-based practices that include Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Habits of Mind, Professional Learning Community (PLC), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). The HF-L instructional program has a proud history. In the modern era not only are the end results continuously moving, but the speed of change, the modernization of the workforce, and the pandemic are all relevant to the work seen at each building.

Registration is now OPEN for the winter Spanish For The Elementary Years class offered at our school at dismissal. There are only a limited number of spots available in the class. (First come, first register…previous participation does not guarantee a spot). If you are interested in registering your child, please do so sooner than later to secure a spot in the class.

New material and vocabulary are introduced in each 6-week session. The program uses a 5-year cycle of lesson plans! Class is open to new and returning K-5th grade students looking to learn and build a Spanish foundation vocabulary base. Vacation Care is available for February break for students' grades K - 5. Tuesday, Feb 22 - Friday, Feb 25, 6:30 am - 6:00 pm located at Manor School. The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is happy to announce its partnership with Paper, a digital tutoring service. This service is available to all HF-L students in grades 4-12 and will provide free, unlimited access to virtual tutoring sessions. These sessions are 1:1 and are available 24 hours a day. Students can access this using their ClassLink portal.

Using Paper, students get homework help, writing feedback, and study support on demand. Teachers gain insights into learning gaps. Administrators have visibility into where support is needed.

UPDATE: Paper is now offering live parent webinars. They are every 2 weeks in English and Spanish. 45 mins, parents sign up through that page and they will receive a Zoom link by email. https://pages.paper.co/webinars-for-parents-and-guardians

Mendon Public Library is open M-Th, 9 am - 8 pm. Friday and Saturday, 9 am - 3 pm. We will be closed for Staff Training on Friday, February 4. Sorry for any inconvenience.
