WMS Friday Forecast
APRIL 9, 2021 - Week 30
Enjoy the Break
We look forward to the day when all of our RedHawks are back in our building. This week we (re)started with 1027 students returning to full-week in-person learning and 379 remote students. There were definitely some adjustments to be made for those in the building. As we have done throughout past years, we take a look at where changes needed to be made and adjust our systems accordingly. While the hallways feel more crowded, our outdoor passing periods have eased the crowd. Our cafeteria has more students, but we offer outdoor and hallway seating. Our morning drop-off has more cars, so we have adjusted how we get cars into and out of the lot.
Overall, our kids have been AMAZING this year- both remote and hybrid students. While we have faced challenges, our kids have done their best to rise to the challenge. And our parents have been highly supportive of their students and our work here at WMS. After this week, we have 35 days of school left. While this year has certainly felt long, parts of it have flown by. We will blink and the year will be over.
Thank you to all of our parents who have helped make morning drop-off better for our students. Friday we will take another look at drop-off and see if there are any other changes that need to be made. For now, the key phrase is, "Please pull up to the furthest cone." By doing that, we can get more kids into the building safely and quickly. I appreciate your help in making morning drop-off more effective.
Enjoy your weekend!
Tim

5 Reminders for After School Pick Up
Just a reminder to parents...
You need to pick up kids at the Norris Center parking lot after school, not off the Dunham Road driveway, Kirk Rd, or Fox Chase Blvd roadways.
Go slowly and be aware of all students and cars in the lots, crossing the roadways.
You need to pull into a parking space in the Norris lot.
Please follow all posted signs and arrows.
Parents may NOT pick-up students from our back parking lot without permission from Mr. Loversky (ex. due to injury). They will receive a pass for this purpose. We have too many smaller buses trying to pick up students from this area.
Thank you,
Tim
