Exciting News at Evans Park - Dec. / Jan.
Together We Are Kicking Off 2024
Dear Evans Park Elementary Community,
On behalf of everyone at Evans Park Elementary, I want to wish you and your loved ones an amazing start to the New Year! After returning from a restful Winter Recess, Evans Park jumped right back into our studies, building character, and strengthening our sense of community.
I am excited to share some of the wonderful moments we've experienced together this past month and highlight our fabulous community. I have been so impressed by our staff's commitment to supporting students, our students desire to learn, and the partnership of our community so that "Together we Can" ensure all students will succeed!
Thank you for your on-going support and partnership.

A Peek into the Creative Process
Individually Unique, Together Complete - A Little Spot of...
Dec. / Jan. - A Little Spot of Kind
Jan. - A Little Spot of Talent
Everyone has something that makes them special! At Evans Park, students celebrate the ways in which others are special and we look to help each other show the ways we are "individually unique, together complete"! On January 24th, students were recognized for celebrating how our individual qualities make our community better with "A Little Spot of Talent"!
Tigers Take the Lead
Tigers' Student Council
We are excited to bring back our Tigers' Student Council! This was an opportunity for fourth grade students to share how they would like to have a voice as a class representative at Evans Park. Students made signs and shared speeches with their classes.
Thank you to all of our students who showed heart and made speeches to their peers. The bravery, kindness, and vision of our students showcased what makes Evans Park a special place.
Join the Tigers' Team
We were overwhelmed by students' desire to share their voice and make an impact at Evans Park! Our fourth grade students are being provided the opportunity to take on various leadership roles.
Fourth graders have been encouraged to apply using this form, to make a difference and be role models for our community. Please read my letter to families outlining this opportunity.
Tiger Tee Tuesday - January 16th, 2024
Students gathered in our halls to do morning announcements on Tuesday, January 16th for our monthly Tiger Tee Day. This is a wonderful time for our K-4 students and staff to come and join together in song to celebrate Evans Park and our community.
Please watch this incredible video of our students and staff showing that "Together We Can" learn and build our community.
PARP - Pick A Reading Partner
Our Pick A Reading Partner (PARP) program is designed to foster the love of books through reading at home individually or with others. Over three weeks, students are challenged to read individually and with others. This year’s PARP theme, Reading is Magical, encourages children to find the magic inside every page, character, and story. Thank you to our PTA for their support of this incredible program.
Please see our calendar that shows all the amazing ways we are celebrating reading this month and letter with more details about the program!

Safe Driving on Our Campus & Winter Weather
The safety of our children, families, and staff are of the utmost priority. During our drop-off and dismissal, it is especially important to make sure that we are following parking rules and safe traffic behaviors. As the weather changes, it is important to keep our community's safety front and center.
When picking up or dropping off, please be sure to not block traffic on Marion Place and to be mindful of pedestrians. We ask that you do not park on the wrong side of the road, as this may obscure the line of sight or impede buses during dismissal. As always, we are grateful for your partnership and commitment to making our campus safe.
Dismissal Reminder
Please be sure to email your child's classroom teacher and our main office (at ZeppetellaM@PearlRiver.org and FreemanK@PearlRiver.org) before 11:30 AM of any changes to dismissal for the day. In order to coordinate a safe and efficient dismissal, we kindly ask for your support.
