Hello, Summerour Parents! Dr. Looney here. Hope you had a great week. We had a wonderful week here at Summerour Middle School. We are finishing up testing, today was the last day of GMAS. We're going to be taking our final exams next week.

Also, parents, we are a uniform school. Monday through Thursday of next week, our students must have their unifrom: collared shirt, and blue or black or khaki pants. Please support us and encourage your child to make sure they are looking sharp every day in their uniform.

Next Friday, May 20th, is our Semi-Formal for 8th graders and it is a time to celebrate 8th graders as they go on to the High School, they get to get dressed up. Tickets are $20 for the Semi-Formal. We encourage you to get your students invovled and have them come to the Semi-Formal next Friday, we don't want them to miss it!

And then, if you have not signed up for Summer Enrichment Acceleration (S.E.A), we sent some forms home this week. I believe today is the deadline, but we may be able to take a few on Monday. Please, please, please, if you got a form for Summer Enrichment, we need you to sign up. It's going to be an awesome time over the Summer. 3 weeks where kids can get some extra support and acceleration so they are ready for next school year.

The federal government waiver that provides free meals for every student will end on June 30, so students will resume paying for meals according to the regular, free, or reduced lunch qualifications.

This means that we will need applications for free/reduced lunches next year if you expect to get those prices.

You may have received a letter for SEA last week via email (or direct from your student). The objective is for all identified students to be a part of the SEA program. The forms were due back on the 9th for transportation planning. If you want your child to attend, please send the form in ASAP, so that we can plan for transportation. Give them to the grade level counselor.
