Board Recognition: Bob Castellano
The Board of Education and the entire District commended and thanked Bob Castellano, Principal of J.P. Case Middle School for his recent heroic act. In June 2021, Mr. Castellano demonstrated swift and diligent action when he witnessed a public disturbance in Newark, Delaware, while on an outing with his family. Mr. Castellano rushed to the aid of a female in a vehicle who was a victim of an attack. He assisted in thwarting a car-jacking attempt and helped to prevent a potentially life-threatening situation. As a result of his honorable act, Mr. Castellano was awarded a Citation of Merit by Newark officials for upstanding citizenship and courage. The District is so proud of and grateful to Mr. Castellano for his outstanding and exemplary service. Congratulations, Mr. Castellano.

It is because of their outstanding efforts that our district continues to provide all students with an excellent education and the foundation they need to succeed in the future. We thank these individuals for all that they have given to our district, including their commitment to children, passion for education and a life-long love of learning.
