News for October 5, 2023
Families,
We have been in the news lately, had increased family concerns (understandably), AND are doing amazing things every single day at RAHS that should be highlighted! Homecoming week was a success with students participating in spirit days, a large crowd at our football game, and over 900 students attending the dance. Students met our behavior expectations and made lifelong memories. We have also had a number of field trips that have showcased career and college opportunities for our students. Having hands on experiences and being out in the community has proved a success. Finally, we have continually focused on attendance, tardies, and hallway behavior as we started the school year. We are happy to share that we've seen a decrease in unexpected behaviors in the hallways and an increase in students being in class. Please talk with your student about the positive things that are happening at RAHS!
I am also happy to share that we have hired a staff member to help monitor the building in the mornings before school starts. Students are able to enter through door 3 (auditorium doors) and either show a pass to go to a club, activity, or teacher OR be in the cafeteria until 7:45. Thank you for your patience as we worked through those safety precautions.
We hope to see you at conferences in the near future (details below).
In collaboration,
Dr. Jen Wilson

Attention All AP students
Now is the time to decide if you are taking your AP exam. The deadline is November 9th, 2023. When you joined your AP class, you were automatically signed up to take the exam. If you are not going to take your AP exam, you MUST go onto College Board and charge your exam status to no. If you do not, you will be charged for the exam. Please talk to your AP teacher if you have questions. You can also stop by the Media Center to see me or email me at shaween.lawrence@isd623.org. The cost for an AP exam is $68 and starting on Monday, finance will start adding that charge to your EduTrak account. If you are AVID or Free and Reduced, you will not be charged. If you are by mistake, please let me know. It will take a few days to update the accounts, so if you do not see your exam fee by Thursday, October 13, please let me know. If you are not taking the exam, please change your status by Monday so you do not get an unwanted charge to your account.
