Gooooood Evening Marlow Families!!!
Tomorrow is our last day before the Thanksgiving break, and let me tell you, Marlow Elementary was active today with 5th graders participating in a Muddy Sneakers expedition, 2nd graders making ornaments, and Thanksgiving excitement in the air. It was a great Monday, and we look forward to finishing strong tomorrow before the break.
Highlights from last week include: a very successful Fall Scholastic Book Fair, our KI and G1 students enjoying the Rugby MS play, Finding Nemo, and of course, our Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday.
From all of us at Marlow Elementary, may you have a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving holiday, filled with great food, family, and fellowship. I am thankful for all of you and your support. Equally as such, I am thankful for our amazing students and staff who commit to excellence each and every day.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

A VERY SUCCESSFUL MARLOW THANKSGIVING LUNCH; CHRISTMAS LUNCH FOR 3-5 IS COMING...
We had a wonderful meal last Thursday for our Thanksgiving Lunch with our K-2 parents. Overall, between students, staff, and families, we served over 700 Thanksgiving meals!!! WOW!!
And of course, none of that could have been possible without the work of our AMAZING Cafeteria Staff -- Ms. Pam, Ms. Christine, Ms. Brooke, and Ms. Karen. Those ladies and our PTO parent volunteers did an amazing job, and the day went so smoothly. Check out our Instagram page for some great pictures. Thank you!
For our 3-5 parents, the Christmas lunch is scheduled for Thursday, December 14th. Invitations will be coming home after the Thanksgiving Break, so please complete the form and send it back in if you plan on joining us. An adjusted lunch schedule for that day will be posted after the Thanksgiving break.
A THANKSGIVING 'THANK YOU!!!
Once again, our Marlow Community came through in a big way, donating well over 830 items to our Turkey Trot Food Drive, and in total, we were able to pack up and deliver over 33 boxes of Thanksgiving meals to our families. Thank you all! We truly have a #CommunityofExcellence!

Electronic Devices (i.e...Smartwatches)
We want to remind all our parents and students that the use of cell phones and other wireless devices (i.eβ¦SmartWatches) for non-instructional purposes are against HCPS Board Policy Code: 4318 Use Of Wireless Communication Devices.
Policy 4318 states that βthe board recognizes that cellular phones and other wireless communication devices have become an important tool through which parents communicate with their children. Therefore, students are permitted to possess such devices on school property so long as the devices are not activated, used, displayed, or visible during the instructional day or as otherwise directed by school rules or school personnel. Wireless communication devices include, but are not limited to, cellular phones, electronic devices with internet capability, paging devices, two-way radios, and similar devices.β
School employees may immediately confiscate any wireless communication devices that are on, used, displayed, or visible in violation of this policy. School administrators may, at their discretion, confiscate wireless communication devices and return confiscated devices only to the studentβs parents.
Please review this with your child, as we are seeing an increase in the use of these personal devices, which are becoming a distraction to the school day. If you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please call the school or contact your childβs teacher.
It's a bird. It's a plane. NO - IT'S LOST AND FOUND!!!
With these chilly mornings and warm afternoons, our Lost and Found is growing exponentially!!
We ask students frequently to please make sure that they are keeping track of their jackets, sweat shirts, hats, water bottles, and everything in between during the course of the day.
Parents - Best practice is to be sure that your child's name is written somewhere inside the clothing.
Parents are free to come anytime to look through our Lost and Found, located by the Gym entrance. Thanks so much for your help.
School Lunch
We also enjoy having our parents, grandparents, and younger siblings come and join us for lunch. Whether it be a special occasion or just a time to come and enjoy lunch with your child, please remember that we do not allow parents to bring in outside food from local or chain restaurants into the cafeteria to give their child. Instead, we encourage you to buy lunch at school with your child and enjoy it with them.
In advance, thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Morning and Afternoon Reminders
**TRANSPORTATION CHANGES** - Parents - Please be sure that you are notifying your child's HR teacher if there are any PM transportation changes. If a change must happen during the school day, we ask that you call the office (before 2pm if possible) to ensure that we get the message to both the teacher and student.
Do not use the Class DoJo app (or any other Social Media app) to make a transportation changes for your child. Please call the office, and we will see students get to the proper method home.
**FOR BOTH THE AM / PM (..on Butler Bridge Road)** - We would like to ask our Marlow families please be "good neighbors" to Aletheia Academy Childcare next door and leave their entrance "unblocked" during drop-off and pick-up. This will allow their families, staff, and any emergency vehicles, if ever needed, access in and out of their center. They will appreciate this kind and thoughtful courtesy very much. Thank you!
**FOR PM CAR RIDERS** - Parents - Please be sure you have the neon green car rider signs displayed in your windshield when picking up students...(You are doing a great job of this!)
Also, please stay in your car, or next to your car, when students are dismissed to walk. We promise, we will get them to the right car, and if we have parents wondering the parking lot and sidewalk, it can create a safety issue. Thank you for your help with this.
