🌟 Family Fun & Fresh Starts: Your Guide to a Great End of Semester! 🍎
Happy middle of January! 🎉
As we settle into the new year, it’s a great time to refresh, refocus, and recommit to making this upcoming semester a fantastic one for our students and families. 😊
To keep that energy going strong, let’s talk about a few ways we can stay healthy, happy, and engaged this winter:
🌟 Stay Active: Whether it’s a snowball fight, sledding, or a brisk walk, bundle up and enjoy the great outdoors. Moving your body helps your brain work better, too!
🍎 Healthy Snacks: Pack some fruits, veggies, and protein-packed goodies to fuel those amazing brains. (Pro tip: Clementines are sweet, easy to peel, and smell fantastic!)
🛏️ Rest Up: Sleep is like a magic potion for our minds. Make sure everyone gets those ZZZs—they're essential for learning and staying positive.
📚 Engage Together: Family game nights, cooking a meal, or even reading together are great ways to bond and sharpen those problem-solving skills!
Let’s also remember to cheer each other on! If your student has a big win, a small victory, or even just an “I tried my best” moment, celebrate it. 🎉 Life’s too short not to acknowledge those little milestones.
Finally, remember: we’re here to support your family every step of the way. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or even just to share a success story—we love hearing from you!
Wishing you a healthy, happy, and amazing end of semester.
🌍✨ Exciting Educational 4th & 5th grade Opportunity: Exploring England!
We are thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for our students as part of a special community grant focusing on countries around the world! 🌎 This month, the spotlight is on England—a country rich in history, culture, and traditions.
During this engaging experience, students will:
🍴 Learn and practice proper etiquette inspired by English customs.
📚 Expand their knowledge of the world, exploring cultural differences and unique traditions.
🎩 Dive into the charm of England, from tea time traditions to royal protocol!
This exciting activity is designed to help our students grow as global citizens, develop cultural awareness, and build skills that will last a lifetime. 🌟
We can't wait to see our students embrace this experience and bring a little bit of England into our community!
Thank you for your continued support of our community partner, Horizons and Hotel Nobo, for bringing this opportunity to our learners.
Cheers! 🫖

A Note from Special Services
Helping Your Child with Self-Monitoring Skills
Self-monitoring helps children become aware of their own behavior and learning. This skill can be difficult for children with disabilities, but with support, they can improve over time. Parents can help by encouraging their child to set personal goals, track progress, and reflect on their work. Using visual charts, reward systems, or regular check-ins can help your child stay on task and recognize their achievements.
