Mrs. Ryan's 1st Grade wins the October Class Challenge!
Congratulations to Mrs. Ryan's 1st-grade class for winning the October challenge! With an incredible turnout, nearly 100% of her students attended school daily or had a family member check in throughout the month! To celebrate this fantastic achievement, Bobby will be visiting their classroom this week to present a special certificate. Plus, the students will have the opportunity to vote on a class prize.
November Class Challenge
For November, we will continue to focus on students being at school daily or having their absence excused by a family member calling the school. This month, the winner of the class challenge will be the class with the most improvement from October. You can support your child's class in the challenge by calling or emailing the school to excuse absences, as long as your student has missed fewer than ten days. Absences can also be excused with a doctor's note. We know how important attendance is, but it's equally important to keep your student home if they have a fever, are vomiting, or have diarrhea for 24 hours after the symptoms go away.
Drill Practice
As part of our commitment to safety, we conduct several drills throughout the school year to ensure preparedness in the event of an emergency. Every month, we hold fire drills in collaboration with the Manchester Fire Department, and we also conduct other school-directed drills at different times during the year. This week, we will hold a reverse evacuation drill to familiarize students with the process of quickly getting back into the building after recess. Before each drill, we inform the students about the drill through morning announcements and provide them with guidance on what to do. We understand that these drills can be unsettling, so we take all necessary precautions to ensure they are as predictable as possible. It is beneficial to review these practices with your child at home to reinforce the importance of being prepared in case of a real emergency.
