A Message from Principal Silzly
It was an incredible first week at school for our students and teachers. I am so thankful to be working with such great kids that came to school this week ready to learn. Our teachers were so excited to get their students back and begin a new year of learning. The week was spent getting to know each other again, learning our schedules, and settling into classrooms. I was really impressed to see our secondary students guide and encourage our elementary students as they navigated through their first days back at school. I am so thankful to be working here at the Cascade School District and if I haven't met you yet please feel free to come see me or introduce yourself when I see you out and about.
๐ท Picture Day - 8/27/24 ๐ท
- When an order is placed online, the parent/guardian will receive a camera pass via email. This can either be printed or texted to the student and brought to picture day. The photographer will photograph the printed camera pass along with the student.
- If a student is not able to print their camera pass, that is not a problem. We will match up the student to their order manually in the production process.
- A parent may order from the flyer up until 24 hours after picture day. After 24 hours, the online ordering access may close. This will allow our imaging team to "Pull" all orders submitted and match them with the students photographed.
- When pictures are returned to school, all students that purchased pictures will receive their prepaid package. Any student that was photographed but did not order a package, will receive a "Proof" (PX) of their picture that was taken on picture day.
All proof packages offer parents a second opportunity to order prints. All orders are subject to shipping and handling costs of up to $8.50 and will be shipped directly to home.

We have about 66% of our families signed up for Rooms - Thank you!
This is the THE communication tool for our School District - we will not be using Remind anymore. If you have not done this yet, please make some time to do so. This is the one stop place for communication between families and the district. Families will have access to teachers, coaches, and club/class advisors all in one place.

From the District Office
Strategic Planning:
Our Trustees are in the middle of an arduous process of collecting information from our community to develop a strategic plan. The survey is short, only 4 questions, but they are mighty. We would love to encourage all of you to dream BIG on what you would like to see from our community school.
The 4 questions are:
- What lifelong lessons (wisdom) should students be taught?
- What skills are necessary for them to be immediately successful upon graduation?
- What sort of values and principles should be reinforced in a school setting?
- What subject matter is important for young people to learn today in order to succeed in tomorrowโs world?
When you are ready, please share your thoughts by clicking the button below. If you would like to learn more about what our trustees are looking for, please consider reaching out to them.
Self Directed Learner Policy
Cascade School District's Self-Directed Learner (SDL) policy allows students to customize their education by tailoring their learning activities to meet personal goals with guidance from a supervising teacher and parent/guardian. Students with SDL status enjoy flexible learning options, including virtual attendance, extended learning opportunities, and the ability to pursue education both inside and outside the classroom. This flexibility is designed to support students' postsecondary aspirations, all while adhering to the district's commitment to providing free public education. However, if a student fails to meet the requirements, their SDL status may be revoked.
