Have a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving

I would like to take this time to wish everyone in our district, including students, families, faculty, and staff, a happy and healthy Thanksgiving coming up next week. It is always a great time to relax and enjoy some tremendous food with your loved ones, which I'll be doing myself on Thursday. I had the honor of being able to celebrate the holiday a little early yesterday when I was invited to come join the lunch services staff at Nottingham West Elementary to help serve a Thanksgiving meal. I was delighted to see the smiles on the students' faces and I loved how festive the environment was with all of the holiday-themed decorations.


I truly hope everyone enjoys the break, which includes no school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week.

Hudson Police Department/Dartmouth Health Children's Toy Drive

During the holiday season, our friends at the Hudson Police Department team up with Dartmouth Health Children's to collect unwrapped toys for families of children who are hospitalized through the holidays. There will be boxes placed at all our district schools to accept donations through December 9th. We hope you'll help with this great cause!

New Hampshire Poet Laureate Jennifer Militello Visiting Alvirne on Dec. 10

New Hampshire poet Laureate Jennifer Militello will be visiting Alvirne coming up on December 10th at 2:30 pm in room 304. All Alvirne staff and students, as well as the Hudson community are invited to attend. We ask that anyone who is planning on attending to please RSVP by using the link here.

Wellness Minute Blog Update

The latest edition of the Food Services Wellness Minute Blog is now live on our district web page. This edition includes helpful tips on how to pack more fruits and veggies in your child's school lunches. Click the link above or the image on the right to read more!

Substitute Positions Open in the District

United Way Teacher Appreciation Event Dec. 2-3

For all of our educators in the district, our friends at the United Way of Greater Nashua are hosting a free drop-in teacher appreciation event coming up December 2nd and 3rd. You can find all the information below, including an RSVP link.

This Past Week at Hudson School District

SAU staff went around to the schools Thursday to help serve a special Thanksgiving lunch to all of our students.

Hudson Memorial seventh graders took part in the Palmer Center at Alvirne's "Exploring Your Future" series on Tuesday, as vendors from the manufacturing industry visited the school to engage with the students on their professions.

Hills Garrison Elementary was paid a visit by Zoo New England biologists Tuesday when they brought in special box turtle species for the students to observe and learn about.
