Principal's Message📢
Hello Bobier Broncos!
We had another wonderful week of learning!
Thank you to our entire Bobier Bronco Community - we really appreciated your patience on Friday afternoon. Due to some electrical challenges, power to our campus was interrupted. We want to commend our entire school staff and district officials for their assistance as we worked together to ensure the safe dismissal of our students. SDG&E worked throughout the evening to restore power and we look forward to welcoming our Broncos back on campus at 8am on Monday morning!
As a Community School we are able to offer additional enrichment during the school day. Students will have the opportunity to participate in not only Music and Library but also Mutli-Media Design, Visual Art, Performing Arts, Garden/Cooking and Social-Emotional Learning. Our Bronco students are engaged and excited!
Early Dismissal
Mark your calendars! This week students will have an early dismissal on both Monday, September 9th and Wednesday, September 11th. Students will be dismissed at 12:58 on both Monday 9/9 and Wednesday 9/11. Teachers will participate in important professional development. Thank you!
Make Up Picture Day
This week information was sent home about how to order pictures of your student after our original picture day. We will have a Make-up Picture Day on Thursday, September 12th.
School Site Council
The Council is made up equally of five members of Bobier’s staff and five parents or community members. The council serves many purposes.
- We review data and the school’s Plan for Student Achievement.
- We work together to align our site goals with the goals of the district and school board and decide how to best allocate our state and federal funds to meet the identified needs of our students.
- We also review Bobier’s Safety Plan each year.
As you can see this council serves a vital function at Bobier. We meet 4-5 times during the year and our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 25th from 2:45-4:00. During our first meeting we will explain everything you need to know about being a School Site Council member. If you are interested, please call, stop by, or email Mrs. Paliotti melaniepaliotti@vistausd.org. We need your help!
Additional Information
Demolition of our old Bobier campus is almost complete! Soon they will begin the next phase of construction of our new campus. The next phase will involve a lot of work on the underground infrastructure.
🍕 Weekly Lunch Menu 🥗
All students at Bobier may receive both breakfast and lunch at no cost. Students can eat breakfast either before school from 7:40-7:55 or during their morning recess. Students are also able to have free lunch.
Drive Safely
Our students' safety is our top priority. We want to take this opportunity to remind you about our traffic and pick up/ drop off procedures. These rules are in place to keep your children safe. Drivers- please be sure to form two lanes and pull all the way forward before dropping off or picking up your child. Please continue to set a good example for your children and all the other families trying to get their children to and from school safely.
Also, please do not exit your car and leave it unattended in the drop off lanes. Please remember to pull all the way forward before having your student enter/exit your vehicle. Thank you for helping us keep our Broncos safe!
English Learners
Attention Parents of English Language Learners: We will be having our first meeting of the year! All parents of English learners are welcome to attend the meeting this Friday September 13th at 8:15. For our first meeting we will be discussing our goals for the school year and how we can best utilize our school budget to support our learners. We hope to see you there!
Nurse
As a reminder, students may NOT carry any sort of vitamin or medication on their person, including cough drops and any over the counter medication. If your student does need medication while on campus, please click HERE for instructions on how to bring medication to school.
Counseling
September is School Attendance Awareness Month! Our school continues to promote attendance at school for every student, every day and on time. Students are super excited to have great attendance in their classroom. Please encourage school attendance at home as it is important because it helps students do well academically and socially in school.
The VUSD Attendance Spirit Day is September 26th. We encourage all students and staff to wear their favorite superhero attire. Here is the District Attendance Awareness Month Flyer.
