BROOKLYN MIDDLE STEAM SCHOOL 30 YEAR OLD TIME CAPSULE FROM 1993
Staff and students will also be putting together another time capsule for the BMS staff to open in another 30 years...2053, for Brooklyn Middle STEAM Schools 90th Anniversary. Plans are in the works for what will be placed in this new time capsule. Be with us to see what goes in for our future staff and students.

STEAM Classroom Happenings
8th Grade U of MN Physics Performance
Brown Bag Lunches
1). Forensic Scientist from the BCA. Students learned about a career as a forensic scientist and analyzed their own fingerprints!
2). Clay Artist. Students learned about crystalline glazes and the chemistry behind it. Then students were able apply their own glazes to their pottery!
3). The Paper Clips. Students learned about what it's like to be a musician, and the different types of trombones. The group played a few Motown pieces.

In Gateway to Technology classes, students coded their own interactive posters using Makey Makey kits.

PACT ALL SCHOOL FUNDRAISER
There were prizes for the advisory who raised the most money and for students who raised the most. Prizes included free time in the gym during advisory, video game time during advisory, a pizza party with a friend during lunch. Hula Hoop and basket shooting contests for prizes, and the big incentive was staff who volunteered to jump in the swimming pool with their clothes if enough was raised.

Teachers jumped into the pool with their clothes on as a reward for all the money earned!

PARENT & STUDENT REMINDERS
PROCEDURE FOR PICKING UP A STUDENT EARLY
When you arrive to pick up your student please enter the vestibule and ring the door bell. You must then provide a photo ID to pick up your student. If you are sending someone else to pick up your student please provide that information in your note or when you call.
We want to be certain that all students are safe and are only released to adults they are approved by you to be with.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE REMINDER
COATS/JACKETS , HATS, MITTENS are also to be kept in student lockers during the school day and not worn throughout the school day.
If students have these items on them during the school day they will be asked to put them in their lockers or turned in to the office. We greatly appreciate your help in reminding your student the importance of staying focused on learning while at school.
