Dear WMS Parents and Guardians:
Curriculum Nights & Volunteers
I want to thank all of you who were able to attend our Curriculum Nights this week. We had a record turnout- I suspect because parents are reengaging post-covid. No matter the reason, we were all happy to see you!
Special thanks to our teachers for carefully preparing information about their curriculum for you. It is important for our parents to be engaged in what their children are learning, and to ask questions. This partnership is paramount.
I would also like to thank those parents who have volunteered this year at Material Pick-Up, on PTO, as a RedShirt supporting our 6th graders during the first week of school, coming in to do copying, or going with us to Outdoor Education at Camp Duncan. We could not do it without our parent volunteers!
I encourage you to stay involved at Wredling. We love having parents involved- from field trips to copy parents to supervising a grade level social. The time you spend here is valued by all of us!
Join Superintendent Gordon for Listen Learn Return - We need middle school voices!
You’re invited to meet with our new Superintendent, Dr. Paul Gordon, and share feedback during the District’s Listen Learn Return community engagement sessions. The final two opening round sessions will be next Tuesday and Thursday. You’ll have a chance to share your perspective on the District’s challenges, opportunities for growth, and successes.
September 6 at Bell Graham Elementary | 6-8 p.m.
September 8 at East High School | 6-8 p.m.
Visit the Listen Learn Return website for more information. RSVPs are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
Enjoy your long weekend-
Tim
This is really big news!!!
SAINTS HELPING HAWKS 2022-2023
“Let’s Finish Our Homework Together”
Saints Helping Hawks has started! Students will have an opportunity to receive help on homework/projects… EVERY Tuesday and Thursday… EVERY week.
We meet in the LRC from 3:40 until 4:40 every Tuesday and Thursday.
Wredling certified staff will facilitate this after school activity. They support high school tutors in whatever work students need. We provide a snack or students may bring their own light, neat after school snack from home.
Students are invited and encouraged to attend at least one session each week for help with homework and projects.
After studying, bus transportation to a nearby elementary school will be available. We hope this transportation will be helpful for those parents who are still at work and cannot pick up their student at Wredling at 4:40.
We look forward to having this extra time with your student.
Thank you.

Big Hearts of Fox Valley
Big Hearts of Fox Valley is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization making a difference in our own community by brightening the lives of D303 children affected by financial hardship at Christmas time and throughout the school year. One of the needs BHFV faces every year is items for teens both during the holidays and throughout the year. Our Wredling community is hoping to help with these Needs for Teens with a collection drive.
Boxes will be at the front doors of Wredling on Curriculum Night Tuesday, August 30th for easy drop off. Any donations of the listed items would be so very appreciated and help students in D303 greatly. We will also have a box for donations on the field at Color Run on September 29th if you'd like to bring in donations then.
You can also make a monetary donation to BHFV that will go 100% to purchasing items for these D303 children and teens in need by visiting Make a Donation - Big Hearts of Fox Valley (bigheartsfv.org)
We are also looking for 10 Wredling families to sponsor a child for the holidays. Lists will be distributed in mid October.
If you have any questions or are interested in sponsorship, please reach out to Jackie Walzer at jmwalzer@hotmail.com
