LAUGHTER
Laughter boosts mood, strengthens your immune system and reduces pain. As adults, life tends to become serious and laughter more infrequent (12 to 15 times per day). As kids, we used to laugh countless times a day (300 to 400 times per day).
Laughter relaxes the whole body. A great, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles more relaxed for as much as 45 minutes afterward.
Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells along with infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to illness.
Laughter activates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins can even temporarily alleviate pain and promote overall awareness of well-being.
Laughter protects the heart. Laughter boosts the function of blood vessels and increases blood circulation, which may help protect you from a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
Laughter burns calories. One study found that laughing for 10 to 15 minutes a day can burn roughly 40 calories which might be enough to shed three or four pounds over the course of a year.
Laughter dissipates anger’s hefty load. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict than a laugh.
Laughter stops debilitating emotions. You can’t feel anxious, angry, or depressed once you’re laughing.
Laughter makes it possible to relax and recharge. It reduces stress and boosts energy, helping you to stay focused.
Laughter brings you closer to other people, which may have a profound impact on all facets of your psychological and psychological wellness.
Laughter makes you feel great. This positive feeling remains with you after the laughter subsides. Humor helps you keep a positive, optimistic perspective through disappointments, hard conditions, and loss.
You are more likely to laugh around other people than when you are alone. Shared laughter is one of the most effective tools for keeping relationships enjoyable and fresh. Laughter unites people during hard times.
The way to bring more laughter into your life
Smile. Smiling is the beginning of laughter and it is infectious.
Count your blessings. Literally, make a list.
If you hear laughter, proceed toward it. When you hear laughter, search it out and inquire, “What is funny?”
Spend time with fun, playful people. These are individuals who laugh easily–both in themselves and at life’s absurdities–and that routinely discover the humor in everyday events.
Bring humor to conversations. Ask individuals, “What’s the funniest thing that happened to you? This week? In your lifetime?”
In others words, tell jokes, watch funny videos, make up silly stories. (Remember mad libs?)
Have a great day!!
