MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Good afternoon parents!
Good afternoon!
Thank you to all that attended Raise A Glass to MES last Thursday night or who participated in the silent auctions. It was such a fun night! Thank you to the PTO volunteers who worked so hard in creating such a wonderful experience.
This Friday is our next parent coffee hour at 2:00! Mrs. Caceci and Mrs. Hutchins will join me in discussing all about our Kindness Campus and our partnership with Ben's Bells. We hope to see you all there. One note, even though there is a focus for the coffee hour we can discuss any topics you might like to as well.
This week and next we will be participating in Coin Drive to raise money to help us purchase books from the February Scholastic Book fair. These books will be put out for all to read and swap out during our March Read-a-thon. The purpose is to have a wide variety of books for students to read and swap out for others during this time. Mrs. Bartholomew's students will be collecting from classes throughout the next two weeks. All coins are welcome!
Even though we have had some snow on the ground, it has been way too cold to do our special snow recess day. We will keep trying and as soon as we can I will let you know when it is scheduled.
Please see the attached flyer regarding an upcoming snow clothing drive.
**Special note to our 5th grade parents please see the attached flyer for our first 5th grade activity scheduled in March. It will be a bowling night with BES 5th graders at Thomaston Lanes on Monday March 18th. Bowling Flyer
Have a great week!
Mrs. Pinho

Updates and News
Fundraiser Success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Parents’ Night Out! We had a blast singing along with the Dueling Pianos and bidding on some amazing prizes and experiences. Most importantly, we hit our fundraising goal and raised over $6,000! These funds will be used to directly support our initiatives for the second half of the year, including assemblies, Field Day support, 5th grade activities, and more!
None of this would have been possible without the support of our many volunteers, donors, staff (for donating those cool experiences!), and the MES families. We are so fortunate to be part of this amazing MES community!
Special shout-out to Lauryn Ciarleglio and Rachel Poythress for organizing such a fun event and successful auction!
Next PTO meeting: Thursday, February 1, 2024 7pm, Flanders Room MES
Fifth Grade Bowling Night! The BES & MES 5th graders and their parents are invited to Meet & Mingle before they are all together at middle school next year! Monday, March 18, sign up for this fun night here!
