Our first full week of 2024 was movin' and groovin'. Students had a ball in their bi-monthly VAPA performing arts activities. Thanks to everyone who filled out the Budget survey this week. We had the most responses ever this year! Next week School Site Council will meet on Wednesday to approve the budget. Thursday our PTA is meeting to start planning next month's Valentine's Day Family Dance. As a reminder, there is no school this Monday, January 15th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To honor Dr. King's legacy of improving communities, please consider joining with fellow San Diegans in HandsOn San Diego's MLK Jr. Day of Service activities (link).

Our lost and found is overflowing again with lots of warm winter clothing. Today is the final day to reunite with any lost jackets, sweaters, and/or lunch boxes. All items without names clearly visible will be collected and donated to the Alpha Project at 3PM.

This week's Student of the Week is Amaya in Mrs. Wilsie's class. Amaya is a joy to have on Team 7. She is an incredibly hardworking student who displays all the qualities of a leader. Because Amaya has a positive attitude, is friendly, generous and giving, she is liked by everyone. Amaya also displays critical thinking skills which she is more than happy to share during whole group lessons. She loves to write and easily fills up a page a day of writing as a first grader. Amaya thank you for being such an incredible Falcon and thanks for exemplifying what it means to be a leader at Fletcher Elementary School!
