Principal Update
Dear Hubbard Woods Families,
Thank you for the many lovely cards, flowers, and treats that I received for Principal Appreciation Week. Our collaboration is so meaningful to me and I feel fortunate to be able to work with our amazing staff, students, and families!
Picture Day retakes are tomorrow.
Halloween Specifics to HW:
Kindergarten will have its parade on the morning of 10/31 at 9:00 AM. I would suggest gathering on the playground's blacktop at approximately 8:55 AM. At the conclusion of the parade, please take any props your child had with them so they do not get misplaced at school. Please see your teacher's emails for specific details.
First through fourth grade students do not wear their costumes to school. Historically, many students go home for lunch and to change into their costumes. Those children staying at school can bring their costumes to school and we will give them time to change after lunch. At 1:15 PM, the students will start our Halloween parade through the school and continue outside via door B7. This is on the east side of the school. We will walk north to Chatfield and then west to get to the playground. We will arrive on the playground at approximately 1:25 PM. The parade will circle the track. Parents are welcome to take pictures and see the students as we parade to the playground as well as on the playground. Please gather outside of the track.
Please see below for more general information on Halloween in our District.
Have a great week.
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody
Elementary Principal Update
Spooky season has arrived! We are looking forward to celebrating Halloween on Monday, 10/31. Our festivities will include dressing up as well as spooktacular activities. While each school and classroom will put its own twist on the day, we are all looking forward to having fun together!
Any adults coming into the building, to support class parties, must have their state ID screened by our entrance monitors. This can be done prior to Monday. We will hold your name tag at school for an expedited check-in on Monday. If you have been recently screened, please let the entrance monitor know you are coming and they will check the system and can print out your name tag without you stopping by.
Here are some reminders that will help to ensure that all students enjoy their time in school.
*Please remember to leave any costume weapons at home
*Only regular safety/health masks can be worn- Halloween masks may NOT be worn at school
*Due to safety considerations, there will be no food served per district practice
*Dismissal is at 2:45 as it is a Monday
*No School for students on 11/1. This will be a Teacher Institute day.
Thank you for helping us to create a safe event for all of our students.
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody, Hubbard Woods
Joshua Swanner, Greeley
Luke Livingston, Crow Island

Maneuvering the ever-changing landscape of technology, social media, and phones for students is a daunting task for any parents.
