On Sunday, July 10 from 9 AM to 3 PM, the 23rd Annual Little Gardens Club Tour will take place. This is a rain or shine event. The gardens are in Egg Harbor Township, Somers Point, Linwood , Northfield, and Mays Landing this year. Tickets are available at Lang’s, Bob‘s, Homestead Nursery and and Joe’s Farm market. Janet Longo also has tickets. Roughly $3000 to $4000 is raised every year for environmental causes. Some organizations which have received donations include Pinelands Preservation Alliance, Cookie Till: a work in progress foundation, Atlantic City Rescue Mission Garden in Goshen, Linwood Arboretum for educational research, the Community Food Bank Garden, Native Plant Society, and the Smallwood garden in Port Republic. Come out and enjoy. You will not be disappointed.

Our First Quarterly Road cleanup was cancelled due to rain. We'll try again for a road cleanup on July 10th. Starting on June 19th there will be a sign-up sheet in the back of the sanctuary for those who want to be notified by email prior to the cleanup and also if there is a cancellation. As Unitarian Universalists, our faith calls us to advocate on behalf of all those who need ready access to safe, legal abortion care whenever and wherever they need it. Access to abortion and the right to choose is an issue of gender equality, bodily autonomy, and religious liberty, all of which are long held Unitarian Universalist religious teachings. We are committed to defending these principles here in NJ and across the country.

This past week the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) held it's annual gathering. Thousands of UUs from the United States and abroad gathered in Portland and online to worship, learn, connect, inspire, and make policy. Although I did not travel to Portland, I was able to attend as a virtual participant and delegate.

The following items were on the business agenda for this GA (click on the links for more information):

• Election of Board of Trustees
• Election of the Nominating Committee
• Election of the Presidential Search Committee

• Renewing UUA Bylaws for Theologically Grounded and Mission-Focused Governance as Amended
• Business Resolution: General Assembly Planning Committee
• UUA Rule Amendment G-9.13.10

Three Actions of Immediate Witness were affirmed:

• AIW 1: We Do Not Consent: Rejecting Legal Challenges to Abortion
• AIW 2: Anti-Racism and Reparations
• AIW 3: Stop Privatization of Medicare

In addition to the business of the UUA, I attended programming focusing on ritual, trauma response, the radical Jesus, climate justice, and liberation theology. I heard adrienne maree brown and Ibram X. Kendi speak and I have access to dozens of on-demand videos of presentations I could not see presented live!

It was a fantastic experience. I hope some of you will consider going to GA next year either in Pittsburgh or virtual.
