Behlau Counseling Chronicles
With Mrs.Garnica & Mrs.Shelton
Sweet November
As we enter into this season of holidays, remember to have an attitude of gratitude. We have so much to be thankful for. As a fun family activity, make a list with your children and post it somewhere that everyone can see it. Or you can write things you are thankful for on little slips on paper and make a "gratitude jar". You can pull one thing out each night at dinner time to read and review as a family.

October Guidance Lessons
Healthy Choices
We learned to make healthy choices every day. Students discussed safety with medicine, eating habits, exercising, and staying with our safe adults.
Positive Affirmations
Sometimes people are mean. We can use our positive affirmations to keep our confidence up and believe in ourselves.
Be an Upstander
3rd-5th graders learned to how to stand up for others when they see someone being unkind.
Digital Citizenship Week
Students were able to interact with this display to learn how to be safe on social media.
Positive Affirmation Pumpkin Patch
Students had so much fun picking a positive affirmation to add to our wall. Positive self-talk is so important for students to learn at a young age. With practice, it becomes a routine and boosts confidence and daily moods.
Red Ribbon Week
Students and staff enjoyed all of our dress-up days. We are happy and healthy and drug-free!
Decision of Respect 2023
All students at Behlau signed a Decision of Respect promising to always show respect to others, our school, and our community.
