Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology
2023 Fall Symposium
Member registration for the upcoming conference in Orange Beach, AL begins on Tuesday, June 20th. Any member wishing to attend the event must register, including those with Premier Memberships.
Registration: Everyone must register so that we have the correct information for your badge, your tee-shirt size, and your emergency contact information.
Cost: $200 for those with Basic Memberships. $0 for those with Premier Memberships.
Payment: Invoices will include links to pay by credit card. Checks are also accepted.
Purchase Orders: If your system requires a PO and you do not have the PO# at the time of registration, please enter "pending" and you will be reminded to supply the information at a later date.
Hotel Link: The group reservation link will appear on the 'Thank You' page once you submit your registration and also in the automated email you will receive. The link should go live on June 20th beginning at 8 am.
Preliminary Agenda: An outline of activities can be found here. Session submissions are still being accepted and a more complete program will be shared once the schedule is built.
Cancelations: It is very important that you notify us if you find you cannot attend. Please read our terms carefully prior to submitting your registration. Our cancelation form can be found on our website.
Fall Presentations Submissions
Vendor-Member presentations. The ALET member must submit the presentation topic, listing the sponsor as a co-presenter. The member must play a key role in the presentation. The sponsor must be a paying sponsor for the Fall Symposium.
Fall E-Rate Boot Camp
New this year, the SDE will determine who may attend. You will apply to attend during the Fall Symposium registration process. You will receive notification about acceptance directly from the EdTech Dept at the ALSDE.
ALET Awards
Nomination Deadline: Tuesday, August 1st
ALET award winners are recognized for their leadership and professional generosity. Please take the time to nominate one or more candidates in our three award categories. Winners will be recognized at the Fall Symposium. Winners receive a plaque and have the choice of $1,000 in technology or $2,500 towards travel to a regional or national EdTech conference.
Sally Moore Award - For those who have demonstrated a long-term dedication to promoting technology in K-12 education
Emerging Leader Award - For ‘up and coming’ educational or technical members whose dedication, creativity, and support has resulted in any or all of the following:
- a significant impact on teaching and learning with technology
- making technology, accessible, effective, and secure
- impactful professional development at the system and/or state level.
ISTE Making It Happen - The criteria, set by ISTE, identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation.
