6th grade families,

We are planning a walking field trip to Mirror Lake the week after Spring Break as an incentive for 6th-grade students. To be eligible students must have earned a C or higher in all of their classes 3rd quarter and have not had any major behavioral issues. Students will need to have a permission slip signed before the day of the trip. Students will need to have appropriate footwear for walking and being outside for about 3 to 4 hours.

We would love to have parent volunteers to walk with us.

The Anchorage School District is transforming the high school experience to better prepare students for College, Career, and Life. As part of this transformation, all 8 high schools in ASD will be implementing a comprehensive wall-to-wall career academy model, known as the Academies of Anchorage. Starting with the graduating class of 2028 (current 8th graders), all incoming freshmen will kick off their high school journey in a Freshman Academy, then move to a Career Academy in grades 10-12. The Freshman Academy experience is designed to promote a smooth transition from middle school to high school, support academic success, and help students explore career pathways. Below is a letter with information regarding 9th graders and what is needed for next year at Chugiak High School.

The SCCS is an online survey for students, staff, and families. The Anchorage School District window is specifically open from February 19 to March 8. There is a survey link for students grade 3-5, grade 6-12, Staff, and Families. Student chromebooks will have links to the student surveys already prepared courtesy of IT.
