Pacers Welcome a New Assistant Principal
New Lakeridge Assistant Principal
The district is moving current assistant principal Dr. Sonya Willis to lead Lake Oswego’s Community Schools, which is without a director at this time. We appreciate Sonya stepping in and bringing her past experience working with key partners, vendors and community members to help manage the dynamic programs offered by and through Community School. We thank Sonya for all of our work at Lakeridge and wish her well with this new leadership challenge.
The superintendent has appointed Teresa Sanchez to serve as Assistant Principal at Lakeridge High School. She brings with her more than 20 years of secondary-level teaching experience at Lake Oswego High, and is a beloved member of our community by students, teachers, staff members, and parents alike. As you may know, for the past two years, Teresa has been leading district-wide initiatives serving as the Equity Administrator, and she is excited to bring all of her experiences to her new position working directly with our students and staff at Lakeridge. While Teresa gets established in this position, former Lakeridge AP John Parke will be working at Lakeridge to help guide her and support the staff. Teresa intends to continue her work with affinity groups and lead the DEIA Committee. Plans are in place to hire consultancy Engage to Change to assist our central office team in training and how best to systematize the huge strides LOSD is hoping to make in our equity work.

Lady Pacers Are on the Road to State
With the win against Oregon City on Saturday night, the Pacers head to the OSAA State Championships at the University of Portland Chiles Center on Thursday afternoon at 3:15 PM. The #4 Pacers next opponent will be the #5 Cavaliers of Clackamas High School. It has been many years since any Pacer Team made the OSAA Final 8. We hope you take the time this next week to come out and support the Pacer Girls Basketball Team at the Chiles Center as they continue their outstanding season representing Lakeridge High School and the Lakeridge Community.
Celebrating Pacers Ski Team
Lakeridge High School Ski Team had a strong showing at the State Championships Races on March 3rd and 4th at Mt. Hood Meadows!
Our Lakeridge Girls Finished the season in First Place for the Three Rivers League and carried that speed in the State Races!
State Qualifiers included Maya Glumbik, Jiyoon Pak, Jenna Nicholson, Grace Skillern, Kailtlyn Nicholson, Mia Schroeder and Sydney Blem for girls. Peter Gutwald and Henry Ryan were our male individual State Qualifiers.
The beautiful first day was met with a very challenging course that caused many DNFs for our strong female racers in the Giant Slalom course. In the midst of the challenge, Maya Glumbik finished two runs placing 3rd place in the Girls GS!
Jiyoon Pak finished her second run with the fastest course time! The girls won the second run of the GS by an impressive 14 seconds!
On Friday, the Slalom Race results represented our Lakeridge Ski Team talent. Our Girls Finished Strong taking 1st Place over all of the state teams for the Slalom Race! Jiyoon Pak crushed the course and placed 2nd in State, Maya Glumbik 8th, Jenna Nicholson 11th, Grace Skillern 14th.
On the boys course Peter Gutwald and Henry Ryan represented our Lakeridge Boys and finished strong on the Giant Slalom course!
Combining the results of both days, Maya Glumbik placed 4th place overall in state for the Girls Individual Combined award.
Most of the State Qualifiers will return next year to build on their success!

YOUTH TRUTH SURVEY
As part of LOSD’s efforts to create a culture of belonging and to achieve equitable outcomes, we are once again administering the Youth Truth survey to secondary students between February 28 and March 25. This is a vital opportunity for members of our learning community to provide feedback and help guide the school’s improvement plan. The survey will take 15-30 minutes to complete and will be offered during school hours.
A family survey will also be conducted. The Family Survey URL is ytsurvey.org/losdfamily22 (Note: The survey won't be accessible until the first day of the survey window). The YouthTruth survey is confidential, and responses from children and parents will be held in the strictest confidence. We encourage everyone to participate. This will be an important piece of information for administrators to improve our students' experiences at school.
*Please note that parents may opt their child out of the survey if they would like. Click here for more information and for other languages.
