Spring Break is March 15th-19th. I hope you have plans to rest, relax and enjoy time with family.
Thanks for entrusting us with your most precious gift,
Mrs. Stewart
News from our Assistant Principal...
We are very proud of our 4th grade students. This month they are preparing to take the STAAR test. The test is on Tuesday, April 6. Throughout the month of March these students will learn test-taking strategies, they will make goals, and learn how to cope with nervousness and test taking anxiety. We are very excited about our students’ success. They have worked hard all year, and many student have met or are beating their own personal academic goals. Great job 4th grade.

March Focus: Responsibility
Definition: having a duty to deal with something or have control over ourselves and being accountable for our own decisions
What does it mean to have responsibility or to be a responsible person?
A responsible person means being able to consciously make decisions and conduct behaviors that seek to improve oneself and help others. A responsible person accepts the consequences of his or her own actions and decisions.
What it looks like to be responsible:
1) Tell the truth
2) Do what’s right (even when no one is looking)
3) Help others
4) Work hard
Guidance Lessons:
During Guidance Lessons, your students are learning how to make responsible decisions. This can include:
- reporting versus tattling
- showing kindness and making the right choice (even if others around you are not)
- solving problems as a "peace maker" (someone who finds a peaceful way to solve a problem) instead of a "trouble maker" (someone that chooses to stir up trouble)
- being trustworthy and telling the truth
- working hard (even when things get tough)
Thank you in advance for taking the time to discuss this with your students, and encouraging them to practice being responsible and making responsible decisions.

Eat Breakfast at School!
Breakfast is served at school! School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert so they can learn more in class. Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body.
Breakfast at school is free for this school year.
Help your child start the day right with school breakfast! Make sure they arrive before 7:45 to have enough time to eat.
Dreambox Reminders
All Lions have access to Dreambox through their SSO and are already logging in during math time in their classroom. This program is a great way to reinforce math skills at home and help build mathematicians through individualized lessons. Students should aim to be on Dreambox 20 to 30 minutes a day and should ideally complete 5-7 lessons per week.
Reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
