- Log onto MyPayments Plus and sign any required documents.
Password Reset
Don't forget to update your passwords with a passphrase!
On July 17, 2023, your student’s password will be reset to reflect their birthday. To support this effort, the student portal will be offline for maintenance from July 17 at 5:00 PM to July 18 at 6:00 AM.
To access the student portal, your student will be required to type their numeric birthday in the password field using two digits for their birth month, two digits for their birthday, and four digits for their birth year (MMDDYYYY). For example, if your student’s birth occurred on June 9, 2015, their reset password would be 06092015.
Students in Grades 6-12 will be required to change their password and activate their accounts using these instructions:https://drive.google.com/file/d/11jd4W8KZ6Sxi2pAG6ocs86TpXluts5jL/view?usp=sharing
Immediately after the first successful login to the student portal. GCPS is strongly recommending that students generate a passphrase as their password. A passphrase is a sentence-like string of words longer than a traditional password, easy to remember, and difficult to guess. Students, families, and staff members can learn more about creating a passphrase by visiting our website at https://www.gcpsk12.org/cybersecure.

Dress Code Reminders
As you begin to prepare for school, please review the PHS dress code guidelines and help your student plan their wardrobe accordingly.
A student's appearance should not be a distraction/disruption to the learning environment of any other student. Instruction is interrupted when a student has to be seen by an administrator because of inappropriate clothing. The guidelines for student dress are not intended to be punitive, but to promote academic success. The administration may have to address students whose clothing is disruptive to the learning environment.
The following guidelines are to promote a positive learning environment for Parkview Students:
Avoid any attire that includes, but is not limited to, the following
- Attire in which undergarments are visible.
- Attire that exposes the buttocks, midriff area, or with low or revealing necklines.
- No headgear is to be worn inside. (Exceptions are granted by the administration).
- Any attire that depicts, promotes, or advertises gang affiliation, illegal activity, illegal drugs, alcohol or tobacco, sexual references, and offensive words or designs.
- Jewelry or accessories that could be deemed unsafe or injurious to self or others.
- No blankets or pillows.
- No sunglasses.
When students come to school in clothing that is considered inappropriate by the school staff, they will be subject to the following consequences:
- 1st offense: Students will be asked to call home for a change of clothes.
- Students will be provided the choice of wearing a “suitable cover,” as available, if clothes cannot be brought from home.
- Headgear/blankets/pillows/ sunglasses will be confiscated.
- 2nd offense: Same as above.
- 3rd offense: Student reports to the grade level administrator and the parents are notified. If the student continues with dress code violations, the parent and administrator will discuss future consequences.
Parking on Campus
A parking pass is required for all students who plan to park on campus. Please do not park on campus unless you have purchased a parking decal. These passes are non-transferable and must be visible in the driver side front windshield. Students parked on campus without a pass will receive a warning and after multiple violations, are subject to being towed at the vehicle owners expense.
You can pay for parking now on MyPayments Plus: Go to your student - Events and Activities - then search "parking"
Parking will re-open on MyPayments Plus, 07/28/2023 after 6pm

What You Need to Know
Check Out Procedures at Parkview
Welcome to the new school year! In the attendance office we want to make the process of checking your student out as seamless as possible. We can do this by following these simple steps:
- Prior to 7:15 am, the student should provide the Attendance Office with a note from the parent or guardian stating the date, parent contact number, the time requested for the check-out, and the reason.
- The student's absence due to checking out will only be excused if it meets one of the approved reasons(please see the GCPS Handbook).
- The student is then provided with a check-out pass to be shown to the classroom teacher at the time of the check-out. This pass should be brought to the Attendance Office to complete the checkout process.
- If the parent cannot be contacted, the student may not be allowed to check out. A parent or guardian must be contacted to grant permission before a student is allowed to leave campus. Students will only be dismissed to the parent or guardian or the emergency contact listed in the Parent Portal. Students who leave campus without following the check-out procedures will be considered AWOL from school and disciplined accordingly.
- Or a parent must come in and show ID to check-out student.
- For security reasons, we do not permit call-in or email parent check-outs. If a student is sick or has an emergency, the school clinic or attendance office will contact a parent/guardian or emergency contact. Students will only be released to parents/guardians, or emergency contacts that are listed on their account.
Checking In
If a student arrives between 7:15 and 7:30 they must go to a designated tardy station to check in.
If a student arrives after 7:30 am, the student must check in to school at the attendance office.
To check-in, the student must do the following:
- Provide a written note from a parent/guardian. If no note is provided, the check-in will be considered an unexcused.
- The tardy will be classified as excused or unexcused according to the same guidelines applied to student absences.
- Present the admit note to the teacher upon arrival to class.
