Inspire, Create and Grow a Community of Lifelong Learners
NEWS FROM MRS. HAZARD, PRINCIPAL
Warm greetings SRES Families!
Our third grade facilitated our All School Meeting this morning and shared a skit about the power of silent-e. Check it out (below)! Well done, 3rd grade! Ask your child about the activity they played during ASM (circle, heads down, all look up at the same time, if eye contact with another person then sit down).
Teachers will participate in data meetings on Friday where we will look at winter benchmark data including MAP and DIBELS, as well as attendance and SWIS (behavioral data). We use this time to discuss student growth and needs as well as plan for instruction. MAP reports will be shared with families with our second-trimester report cards.
Tuesday: Winter Sports

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM NEWS
After School Program News:
It was so nice to get back to a regular routine! We did a lot of fun activities this week!
Monday: Cooking club Tonight we split into 3 groups. Each group mixed up a batch of beet pancakes. We had some students reply, ”I am not going to like these!” We asked each student to take at least one bite and after that bite the reactions were, "These are really good!” The recipe was sent home with each student. Try these at home!
Tuesday: Craft club Ms. Amanda bought us the cutest groundhog headband craft. I hope you were able to see some of these on your students.
Wednesday: Choice club Oh! The choices we have! Students made toilet paper roll snowmen while others chose to play with legos. Basketball was a choice made by others.
Thursday: Rockingham Library club
Sam was unable to be with us tonight. Don't you fear, our ASP students had so much fun celebrating Groundhog Day. We made two crafts and listened to the book Groundhog's Day Off. Did the Groundhog see his shadow?
Friday: Board game club One of our favorite nights! Ask your ASP student what game they played tonight.
Looking forward:
- February 8, 2023 NO ASP - Early Release Day
- Week of February 20, 2023 NO ASP - Winter break
- March 6, 2023 - ASP session 4 starts
