A message from the office
Super Violet ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ
At Violet Elementary, we recognize students each month as our "Students of the Month" for following school wide expectations of being Kind, Helpful and Caring, along with demonstrating the character trait word of the month. In August our trait was Respect, September our character trait was Responsibility and in October we have learned all about Empathy.
At the end of each Quarter we honor those students who have been nominated by their teachers for being our Super Violet. These students are always Kind, Helpful and Caring, and have demonstrated the character traits of Respect, Responsibility and Empathy. Below are our first quarter Super Violets. Congratulations to
Brecken, Savannah, Carter, cash, Samuel, Manyah, Yahya, Alex, Tatum, Cooper, Patrick, Betselot, Mya, Braeden, Arielle, Gayana, Melahier, Mohamed, tanner, Jordyn and Nicole.
Veterans Day Breakfast ๐บ๐ธ
Submissions are coming in. We will host our annual Veterans Day Breakfast on November 10th!!
Please remember to email lynsey_comer@plsd.us with an image after you complete the google form. Please add their name in the subject line.
If you are new to Violet Elementary, we like to celebrate our Violet veterans with a celebration breakfast. We invite students and their special Veteran to come and join us for a breakfast provided by, and served by our wonderful Violet staff.
This breakfast is open to the Violet Elementary Student, and their Veteran. Unfortunately due to space we can not have the whole family join us. We will offer an alternative way for families to see how we honor our Veterans.
If you have a special Veteran you would like us to honor, regardless if they are able to attend the breakfast or not, please complete this brief google form.
Smiles Mobile Dentist ๐ฆท
The Smiles Dentist will be coming to Violet Elementary on November 9th and 10th. They provide routine preventative care and minor restorative care.
Consent forms were sent home this week with students and need to be returned by November 1, 2023.
Please let Nurse Caitie know if you have any questions.
Trash or Treasure ๐ฌ
Did you know that Americans spent a record $36.9 billion on candy in 2021โmore than 600 pounds of that candy is purchased just for Halloween. We all love celebrating with something sweet! However, the vast majority of candy wrappers end up in landfills due to an inability by most curbside recycling programs to recycle them. Thatโs where Trash or Treasure comes in.
Start saving those Halloween candy wrappers, and beginning Monday October 30th thru Thanksgiving Break, Violet Elementary will participate in the 2nd annual Trash or Treasure, so that you donโt have to trash those candy wrappers and doom them to an eternity in a landfillโor, even worse, in our oceans.
Watch Dog Dads ๐พ
If we were unable to make our Watch D.O.G Dad kick off Pizza Party, but would like information, please check out the attached document.
We would love to have many positive male role models in the building.
What's happening in Tech? ๐ป
Check out what our students have been working on in Technology with Mr. Ross, and you can continue their learning at home.
ISO empty cereal boxes
Miss Bogantz is currently working on a super cool project with 3rd grade, and is in need of empty cereal boxes to use. If you have any, please send in with your student.
Empty boxes only please. We don't need the goodies inside.

Read-a-thon fundraiser ๐
We're very excited about our upcoming Read-A-Thon fundraiser from November 8 through November 17 and want to share an amazing opportunity for local businesses. If you own, manage, or know of a business that would like to support our school, consider becoming a Read-A-Thon sponsor. By becoming a sponsor, a business will gain exposure to thousands of individuals who are all passionate about supporting literacy and our community.
Hurry, as there are only a limited number of digital and printed sponsorship spots available, including an exclusive Literacy Champion sponsorship. Reserve sponsorship spots today by clicking here. This has also been shared with our Pickerington Chamber of Commerce members, so opportunities will be limited. As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support of our school community.
Warm regards,
Violet Elementary School PTO
