MRS. REGH'S FRIDAY SCIENTIST
Each week a student in Mrs. Regh's class chooses an experiment. The student follows a format for a lab report and review it with the class. The student then performs the experiment, reviews the outcome with the class, and then answers questions.
This week, a student dropped a roll of Mentos into Diet Coke and a "volcano" erupted. The carbon dioxide molecules in the soda attach to the rough surfaces of the Mentos. This causes a physical reaction. The Mentos in a lot of soda make a lot of bubbles that rise to the surface and push the soda out in a big woosh!
