3rd Quarter - Generosity
Generosity is freely sharing what you have with others. It is being willing to offer money, help or time when it is needed. To be generous means giving something that is valuable to you without expectation of reward or return. Many traditions measure generosity not by the size of the gift, but by what it cost the giver. Read about generosity with your student in these books: The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister, An Orange for Frankie by Patricia Polacco, Someone Loves You Mr. Hatch by Eileen Spinelli, and The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
🏫 Inside The Classroom 🏫
Learning about the Supreme Court system is not always easy or entertaining. However, Freshman Jacob Best brought some excitement to the topic with a presentation on the Supreme Court case "Texas v. Johnson." Megan Krusemark, Jacob's American Government teacher, stated the objective for the assignment was to understand the importance of judicial review, describe the Supreme Court’s role in applying the principles of the constitution and the impact of landmark supreme court cases. Jacob was given a list of landmark supreme court cases and he chose this one, “because it looked interesting.” Jacob's artistic ability and attention to detail made this presentation one of the best presentations Megan has seen.
