Hendricks Families,
It is hard to believe that we are finishing up the first nine weeks of school! It has been a great start! I want to thank the staff, students and all of our Hendricks families for their dedication to making this a great year! I hope everyone has a chance to rest and relax over Fall Break! Just a reminder that today, Thursday, October 5, 2023, is the last day of school before Fall Break! There is no school tomorrow, Friday, October 6th. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, October 16, 2023!
We have had a busy week at Hendricks! We had several field trips! First grade enjoyed a beautiful day at the zoo! Our fourth graders traveled to Conner Prairie and second grade enjoyed Kids Commons in Columbus! I received many great reports regarding student behavior! I am so proud of everyone for being wonderful examples and showing their Hurricane Pride!
I want to take a moment to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to our tremendous PTO! They have done a great job of providing support for the staff and students of Hendricks! They are a dedicated crew that make us all feel special! We are lucky to have you and THANK YOU for all you do to make Hendricks a great place to work and learn!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone during Parent/Teacher Conferences! Thank you to those that have already been in to talk with teachers and we look forward to meeting parents that are scheduled to visit today and Friday! We appreciate your support and the partnership between school and home! If you are not able to make your scheduled time, please give us a call so we can reschedule a time for you to discuss your student's progress! If you were unable to pick up your fundraiser items, please let us know when you visit for conferences so we can get those for you! We appreciate your support of HES!
Hendricks would like to take a moment to thank Mrs. Bockelman for her years of service to Hendricks! She will be missed, but we wish her nothing but the best in her new position! Unfortunately, with Mrs. Bockelman leaving, we have been unable to secure a new music teacher at this time! In an effort to provide consistency and routine for students, we will be starting a new specials rotation starting Monday, October 16. Students will be operating on a 4-Special schedule (Art, PE, STEM, Library). On Wednesdays, students will go to the same special area class that they went to on Monday. It is our hope to find a qualified music teacher as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through this situation!
