Book Clubs

We have Book Clubs for everyone at Martin Elementary - from Kinder to 5th Grade!!

We all want to help our children succeed in life and one great way to do that is to help them become better readers! We are continuing reading program in the library for our Kinder and 1st Grade friends called the “100 Books Club”. Your child will read a book (or have one read to them if they are not independent readers yet), fill out the chart on the front, and return it to the library. Your child will receive a prize and then get the next reading log. Each time a log is filled out and returned, a prize will be given. When they have read 100 books (Reading Log #5), they will receive a prize, their name will go on our Reading Wall of Fame, be announced on Martin’s morning announcements and their picture posted on our Facebook page!

We are changing our reading program in the library for our 2nd and 3rd Grade friends called the “150 Books Club”. Your child will read a book on their level, fill out the reading log, and return the completed log to the library. They will receive a prize and then get the next reading log. Each time a log is filled out and returned, a prize will be given. When they have read 150 books (Reading Log #5), they will receive a prize, their name will go on our Reading Wall of Fame, announced on Martin’s morning announcements and their picture posted on our Library Facebook & Instagram pages!

This is for our 4th - 5th Graders and here are the rules:

1. List the books you read on the form provided by Mrs. Coffman.

2. Read at least 3750 pages. The reader who reads the most pages, wins the Challenge.

4. Books must be mostly text – picture books, magazines, and graphic novels (comics) may not be counted for the Challenge.

5. Challenge ends April 26.

When a student reaches One Million Words (3,750 pages) they will receive a yard sign, their name will go on the Wall of Fame, they will be announced on the morning announcements and their picture posted on the Library Instagram and Facebook pages!
