Explore More Day Celebrates 20 years
Can you believe that this year marks 20 years of Explore MORE Day at Madison?
Are you ready to Explore MORE?
Explore MORE Day is Fri., May 27. To celebrate 20 years of Exploring MORE, we have added some exciting new classes this year. Our students will love the new line-up and will enjoy some of the old favorites too. Mark your calendars. Registration flyers will be coming home in backpacks on Fri., Apr. 15. Our online registration system will open that afternoon. We encourage everyone to register right away to ensure students receive their top choices. All registrations must be completed by Apr. 20.
Fifth Grade Celebration planning is underway
The 5th Grade Celebration will be May 31 from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. Our 5th Grade Celebration Committee is currently working on planning a fun and memorable party for our 5th Graders.
We still need your help.
Baby pictures and questionnaires should be sent to Tracy Osborne by April 15. You can email them to osbornetracy3@gmail.com, upload them to the Madison 5th Grade Celebration Facebook page, or send them to school with your 5th Grader. Please remind your 5th Grader not to share pictures with other students.
We are still seeking pictures for the 5th Grade DVD and memory book. Pictures can be posted to the 5th Grade Facebook page, emailed to Kristin Olson, kolson1@me.com, or submitted on a disk or flash drive to the 5th Grade Celebration mailbox in the school office. Please limit pictures to only those taken at school.
Lastly, we are currently collecting donations for raffle prizes. Any donations, no more than $15.00, are greatly appreciated. Some fun ideas include $5 and $10 gift cards, PE t-shirts for Edison, items to decorate lockers, fun pens and pencils, or anything you think a new 6th Grader would like. Donations can be dropped in the school office in the Raffle Bin. If you have any questions regarding the raffle, please contact Becky Grout at rebeccagrout1@hotmail.com.
District 200 PTAs to present scholarships
Please congratulate former Madison student Meezahn Senbetta for earning one of 30 District 200 PTA scholarships. Each year, PTAs across District 200 contribute to the $500 college scholarships. Senbetta and the other 29 recipients will receive their scholarships at an awards breakfast later in April.
Turn in your Raging Waves Plunge into Fitness Logs
Turn in your completed Raging Waves Plunge into Fitness log to your teacher by Wed., Apr. 13. You will get your FREE Raging Waves weekday pass from your teacher before the end of May. Extra fitness logs are available in the front office. Contact Sybil Scaccia at sscaccia@comcast.net with any questions.
Thank you to all who made St. Baldrick’s Day successful
Thanks to all the 5th grade student and teacher efforts we raised over $28,000 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation and their work to raise children’s cancer awareness.

Madison Yearbook Update
You can still place an order for the 2015-2016 Madison Paw Prints. A yearbook costs $17 and will be delivered to the student before the end of the school year. Use this link to order and pay with credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover).
DID YOU KNOW? You can pay with a check when purchasing a yearbook online. Just click on the payment option drop down menu and select 'Check'. Enter the information from your check as prompted.
All yearbooks must be prepaid by April 30. If you pay after April 30, shipping charges will apply and the yearbook will be sent directly to your home.
Click here for a list of all students that have ordered a yearbook as of April 4, 2016.
Custom Pages - TreeRing offers a custom yearbook option. You can personally create two pages with photos that you upload. Please be sure to upload your personal photos to a private folder under your account, otherwise, the Madison community has the ability to view your photos on TreeRing. These custom pages will take the place of two pages that will appear in non-custom books, the Lunch and Recess collage page and a compilation page of various Madison events. If you opt to include custom pages, the deadline to complete these pages and be 'print ready' is TODAY, April 8.
When finished customizing, set your book to 'print ready' or you won't receive your custom pages. Not customizing? Just leave your book NOT 'print ready' and you will receive the standard book.
All School Photo - The annual outdoor all school photo has been rescheduled for Thurs., April 14 at 2:30 p.m. with hopes for warmer weather. Keeping it simple this year, students can wear whatever they want. All morning Kindergarten students are invited to attend the photo under supervision of a parent.
Please contact Dawn Draus at yearbook@madisonschoolpta.org with any questions.
