Hello to all Challenger Chargers & Families!

I hope this message finds you well. It is with great pleasure that I write to you today, just over a month into the new school year. I am thrilled to see the enthusiasm and dedication that our students have displayed to make our start of year successful and enjoyable.

In these past few weeks, our school has come alive with the energy of learning, creativity, and growth. It has been heartening to witness our students immerse themselves in their classes, participate actively in extracurricular activities, and build strong relationships with their peers and teachers.

We are nearing the halfway point for Quarter 1, which means Interim Reports will be available very soon. Q1 Interims will be posted on students FOCUS portal accounts on Wednesday, September 13th. We are so very proud of the students at Challenger Middle and their academic growth. If you see that your student is underperforming please feel free to call the school to schedule an appointment with his/her teachers. Student success - emotionally, physically and academically are our first priority.

Students auditioning for the Jr Thespian District Individual Event Festival:

Prepare a memorized acting or musical theatre selection from a published play or musical. Students that are selected from the audition will need to be available for the festival held at NFMAA on Saturday, November 11th from 8 am-4 pm.

If selected there will be a registration fee.

What Is Science Olympiad?

Science Olympiad is a competition for students. Teams are comprised of up to 15 students. Teams compete in different events that are rooted in mathematics, physics, chemistry, earth and space science, biology, and engineering. Students engage in hands-on, interactive, and inquiry-based activities that are lab-based, research-based, or design and construct a device to test at competitions.

ATTENTION!

Starting this school year (2023-2024), all middle school students participating in any sport are required to receive a health exam (also known as a physical) from their healthcare provider and submit a completed medical evaluation form to the school before the tryouts of whichever sport they are participating in.

CROSS COUNTRY (XC) SIGN-UPS BEGIN TUESDAY,

SEPTEMBER 5

Students will meet in the gym at dismissal. On the first day of the sport, students will receive information about what is needed to continue. Intramural and insurance information must be signed and returned prior to practice. Along with the intramural form, students must also submit a current medical evaluation form and an after-school activity form. These forms will go home the first day of sign ups. The day of sign ups, please have a ride by 5:00 pm, or approval and registration to go to After Care.

PTO/SAC will be held in person this school year, with an optional Microsoft Teams link, which can be found on the school's website. The meeting occurs every second Thursday of the month.
