Frost Dismissal Plan
New Information
2023-2024 Dismissal
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer break and are ready to return to school! This year Frost will update it's dismissal plan to provide a more efficient and safe route for students to exit the building afterschool. Dr. Valeski has sent a message out for parents to provide dismissal information on the parent portal. This information is important as it provides the district with your preferred method of dismissal for your child. After you have completed the district forms in the portal, please complete the Google form for Frost School to identify if your child will be a walker, car line, or bus pick up. This information will determine where your child will be dismissed from the building. This year we will distinguish between car line students and walkers as they will be dismissed from different locations.
Please continue to use the attendance line (732-613-6850, option 1) and teacher notes to inform the school of any changes to the dismissal procedures. Below you will see the detailed distinction between the three dismissal routes and where students will be dismissed.
Best regards,
Dr. Nyree Delgado
Car Line Dismissal
Car Line
- Students identified as car line will have their parents pick them up in a car in front of Frost Elementary School.
- Car line dismissal will take place at the front door nearest the Frost Forest (see photos below).
- Students will line up by grade level and will be called up to the car line by staff members on duty.
- No parent is to exit their vehicle while waiting in the car line. The line will be continuously moving to expedite the dismissal process.
- Car line students will only be dismissed from the car line dismissal location. If there is a change in the dismissal procedure, please use the attendance line or a teacher note to inform the school prior to dismissal.
Walker Dismissal
Walkers
- Students identified as walkers will be picked up by a parent to walk home or walk home independently with written parent permission.
- When driving to pick up your child as a walker, you must find a legal parking space. You cannot park in the car line.
- Students will be dismissed by their teachers in the back of the building by the pathway that leads to Winton Road. ( which we now call Walker's Lane)
- Walking students will be dismissed by grade level out of the rear door ( see photos below).
- Parents can wait for their child by the rear door. If school is still in session we ask that you wait in front of the building until dismissal time before going to the back of the building to Walker's Lane to pick up your child.
- Those students who are independent walkers will be released by their teacher from the back location or will be escorted by a staff member to the front of the building if Frost Avenue is a more convenient walking location.
- Walking students will only be dismissed from the walker dismissal location. If there is a change in the dismissal procedure, please use the attendance line or a teacher note to inform the school prior to dismissal.
Bus Dismissal
Bus Students
- Students identified as taking the bus will gather in the multi-purpose room and line up by bus number.
- Staff members on duty will escort students out of the multi-purpose room to their assigned bus.
- Only bus students will be dismissed from this location.
- Students taking the bus will only be dismissed from the bus dismissal location. If there is a change in the dismissal procedure, please use the attendance line or a teacher note to inform the school prior to dismissal.
