Coronavirus Information
As you know, we are monitoring information about Coronavirus very closely. Coronavirus is a respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in 60 locations internationally, including in the United States.
New guidelines now state that any student/staff member returning from mainland China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran should not attend school/work for 14 days after the return date. Please contact your principal immediately if you have recently traveled to these locations. Click here for travel information from the Center for Disease Control.
We have been taking action in all of our buildings to help reduce the spread of germs. In our schools we have increased deep cleanings and are making sure kids are washing hands and staying as germ free as possible.
Please continue to take preventive actions to keep your family safe and protect you and others from the spreading of viruses. Please follow these guidelines:
When sick, stay home for 24 hours after a fever breaks (without the use of fever-reducing medications).
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue.
Wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available.
Stay home if you have been exposed to a family or household member who is sick.
Cover your nose and mouth with a mask or cloth if you are sick and around people or at a mass gathering in a community where the pandemic is already occurring.
Consult your healthcare provider if you have a concern for yourself or a family member who is showing symptoms of illness.
Consult advisories when preparing for travel outside of the country, particularly to already impacted areas.

Tonight - Inclusion Program for all Parents and Staff
All are invited to attend a co-sponsored community event with District 41 PTA Council and the PTA Student Services Parent Advisory Committee (SSPAC) TONIGHT Wednesday, March 4 from 6:30 to 8:30, at the District 41 Central Services Office, for a conversation with international inclusion expert Dr. Julie Causton on “5 Things Every D41 Parent Should Know about our Inclusive Practices.”
Dr. Causton is co-presenting with Stephanie Traver who will share her personal story of being included throughout her school years. In addition, Stephanie’s mom, Casey Traver, will be a part of the question and answer portion of the evening following their presentation.
Dr. Causton has provided professional development and community engagement in District 41 for the past two years. This event will provide the opportunity for the community to engage in a discussion about how we have embraced inclusion in District 41. We will talk about the specific inclusive practices we strive to employ every day in our schools.
While registration is not required, it is appreciated. Please RSVP by emailing your response to Sandi Hanson at shanson@d41.org.
