Placer County's Tier Designation- What does it mean for TTUSD?
Dear Parents and Community Members,
You’ve likely heard in the news that cases of COVID-19 are rising in our counties, our State, and across the country. While cases of COVID-19 exist, the case rate in our schools remains low. (Click here for TTUSD’s COVID Dashboard.)
On Tuesday, Placer County moved back to the red tier in the State’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy,” and there is a strong chance that Placer County could move to the purple tier in the next week or two.
What does this mean for TTUSD?
We can remain open as long as our case rates don’t rise within our schools.
An individual school site would close for distance learning if at 5%+ of the student body and staff are diagnosed with COVID-19 within a 14-day period.
Our school district will close if a quarter of its schools have been closed due to positive COVID-19 cases within two weeks.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We ask you to please refer to the CDC’s latest guidance on celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday. As the CDC states, the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is to celebrate with people in your household.
If you do plan to spend Thanksgiving with people outside your household, the CDC recommends the following to make your celebration safer:
Wear a mask
Stay at least 6 feet away from others who do not live with you
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
Your actions count. Please help us keep our TTUSD community safe and our kids in school!
