This interactive Bible time is a great way for your family to gather around God's Word and read, listen, watch, sing, and do activities together that help you learn more about God's great love for you in Jesus.

What’s the best or worst decision you’ve ever made?

Around two hundred years after the kingdom of Israel was divided, God let the Assyrians conquer the idolatrous Northern Kingdom and take God’s people captive. You would think the Southern Kingdom, Judah, would see this and stop following idols. But Judah kept sinning. The people thought that as long as they made sacrifices in the temple, God would overlook their sins. So God called young Jeremiah to prophecy judgment on them. What God wanted most was for His people to repent and turn back to Him! But the kings and the people wouldn’t listen to Jeremiah. Finally, God let Babylon come and take the people of Judah away into exile. Jeremiah wrote letters to comfort the exiles, to let them know that even though they had turned away from God, He still loved them. He had a plan for a future and a hope for them.

Heavenly Father, sometimes we do the wrong thing, even when we know what’s right. Thank You for still loving us and forgiving us for Jesus’ sake. Help us to listen to Your will for our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

• What bad decisions did God's people make? What finally happened to them?
• Who did God send to warn His people and to comfort them in exile? What did he tell them?
• Jeremiah was a young man when he was called to be a prophet. He felt like he wouldn’t know what to say. How did God help Jeremiah? How does God help you to share His Word?

God's people kept on turning away from Him and worshiping false idols. God finally let Babylon come and take them away into exile.

God sent the prophet Jeremiah to warn the people to turn from their sins. When they didn't listen, God spoke through Jeremiah to tell His people that He still loved them and that He would take care of them, even when they were far away from home. God promised that one day, He would bring them back to their homeland.

God gave Jeremiah the words to say to His people. God promises to give us the words that we need to share His love and forgiveness with others.

I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Thank You, heavenly Father, for giving us hope and a future through Jesus. Thank You for being with us in good times and bad times. Thank You for Your love and forgiveness. In Your name we pray. Amen.
