Springmill STEM Family Update

It was a great week at STEM last week! We had so much fun at our Math Mystery Night and lots of mysteries were solved! See below for pictures of the drawing winners. Our next family event will be our Spring Concert on March 28 at 6:30pm at the High School. I can't wait to hear what Mrs. Kral and Ms. Walter have been working on with the kids!

The weather is supposed to feel more like winter this week, so please make sure students have appropriate clothing to go outside for recess. We go outside as long as the "feels like" temperature is 25* or above.

After a great day of working together on Friday, our teachers are ready to welcome back students for a strong 4th nine weeks!

Principal - Springmill STEM

We have seen an increase in negative bus behaviors that are unsafe for the driver and the other students. Please remind your students that their behavior on the bus is being monitored by video from the moment they get on, until the moment they get off. They need to stay seated and talk quietly. While watching the footage, I see some of our little angels jumping seats, screaming, and being very disruptive. The busses now have their own PBIS system and the expectations have been reviewed with students. At this point in the year, students have had plenty of time to practice, so distracting and unsafe behavior will be dealt with seriously by the office.

****IMPORTANT**** Even if you fill out kindergarten registration on OneView, you will still need to fill out the student interest form to attend Springmill STEM. See directions below.

Registration for next year is going to look a little bit different with advances in technology and the expansion of our school. First, all CURRENT and prospective new students have to fill out our online interest form: https://forms.gle/9MF4mzr4fJfEA9D67 .

As classes fill up, we will place students in the order in which we receive the completed form.

For NEW students, including kindergarteners and siblings of other students that have already attended, after you fill out the interest form, you will need to meet with the principal and tour the school before officially registering. We want to make sure you know how Springmill STEM is different from the other elementaries and our student expectations. Springmill is an educational option in Mansfield City School District for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The learning process is based on STEM processes and focuses on developing the skills students need to be successful in 21st century jobs. If your student is curious, creative, and a problem solver, this might be the right place.
