In an ongoing effort to provide a safe learning environment, Sycamore is requesting parents, students, and staff to inform administration (or whoever) of any perceived incidences of harassment, intimidation, or bullying.

Per the Sycamore Board of Education policy JFCF, harassment, intimidation, and bullying are defined as any provoked and intentional written, verbal, electronic or physical act that a student has exhibited toward another particular student more than once and the behavior both:

1. causes mental or physical harm to the other student; and
2. is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that it creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for the other student.

Sycamore will do everything possible to address any complaints of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. We encourage students, staff, parents, and community members to report this type of behavior to the district if help is needed to solve a problem.

To report an incident of harassment, intimidation, and bullying,

1. Go to the district’s website, www.sycamoreschools.org or on the individual school’s website under “Bullying Prevention” to find the form.

2. “Report Bullying”

3. Fill the form online and submit it electronically.

4. Hard copies of this form are available in each of the schools.

Complete the hard copy of the report form and turn it in to the building principal. The building principal or designee will promptly investigate all reported incidents.

It is difficult to investigate reported incidences that are anonymously submitted. However, every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of the reporter. Deliberate false reporting of harassment, intimidation, and bullying is prohibited.

Partners Club is an after school group that provides an opportunity for students with disabilities to build friendships with their peers. Partners Club members will participate in leisure and recreation activities such as arts & crafts, games, and more! Partners Club meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month from 3:04 - 4:00 in the cafeteria. Transportation will not be provided so students need to be picked up promptly at the front of the JH at 4:00 pm. Snacks will be provided, but you must sign up to attend.

Dear Sycamore Junior High Parents:
This is your Flight Fest 2021 Flight Plan! Flight Fest is the Sycamore Junior High’s one major fundraiser, supporting over 20+ clubs for the almost 900 7th & 8th students, as well as many other school initiatives.

**Flight Fest will follow the Sycamore Community Schools Healthy Aves Plan. Our event will be held entirely outside. At this time guidelines state that outside activities do not require a mask, but you may wear one if you so choose. Restrooms will be accessible inside the building (mask required when inside). Masks & hand washing/sanitizing stations available, all volunteers who will be handing out medals or food/water will be wearing gloves. The Sycamore Community School District is currently looking for registered nurses who would like to be employed as substitute nurses. Applicants must have current nursing experience, preferably with children, special needs, diabetes and an active nursing license.
